The album closer reimagines the classic 1912 Lawrence Textile Strike song "Bread and Roses" for 2025, honoring the tradition while updating for intersectional struggles. WikipediaWMNF Opens with solo acoustic guitar and voice, traditional folk style, singing the original verse about hearts starving as bodies starve, about beauty and art being necessities not luxuries. "Hearts starve as well as bodies, give us bread but give us roses."
But then each verse adds a contemporary struggle: Trans people demanding not just survival but joy and celebration (gender splendor for everyone); disabled people demanding not just accessibility but full participation in society; reproductive justice meaning not just legal abortion but comprehensive care, childcare, paid leave; workers demanding not just living wages but dignity, democracy, and control over their labor; housing justice meaning not just shelter but community, culture, and homes that don't displace; immigrants demanding not just legal status but belonging and freedom from persecution.
Each verse builds instrumentally—first bass, then drums, then electric guitar—until the final chorus is a massive, soaring anthem with all the themes united: "We're fighting for our bread, our roses too / Trans liberation and reproductive rights / Labor unions and a place to live / Disability justice, immigrant freedom / All of it together, all of us alive / This is our time, this is our fight."

A dear friend told me my sets felt like you never knew where you're going, but were always happy when you got there. As a Groove Guardian creating AuralSonic Journeys, I could not ask for higher praise.

Music is a special language I have experienced, practiced and absorbed my entire life. And now in my "Golden Years", I practice this complex craft using the simplest of tools and as little FX as possible. Less is so much more. I avoid artificially contrived tension and release, and prefer to let music express what is already inherent; if it works, don't fix it.

My Dad was a Choir Master and Music Director (from the Royal School of Church Music in London, England). I grew up listening to him playing the piano every day. He started me singing at age 7 (1963), and for the ensuing three decades, I was immersed and trained in music structure, classical history, sight-reading and singing in quartets, sextets, octets, madrigals, Gregorian chants, school choruses, professional chorales and soloist in the sacred circuits of LA. 

In 1968, I was collecting first-issue releases from the Turtles and the Beatles. I graduated Santa Monica High School in 1974, and  was programming house party mix tapes on cassette tape. Of course it was very linear, but even then I was thinking outside the box. With the advent of DAW’s, it’s a whole new world!

Today, it’s about inspiring and uplifting people through music's universal language. It’s about feelings and passion using an eclectic mix of genres and styles, new, old, obscure and popular. I want to set free your heart, your mind and your body. 

Burning Man and Sweets Ballroom – not to mention the Dungeons and Play Spaces in San Francisco & Oakland – have irrevocably altered my musical DNA. The new, expanding universe of Ecstatic Dance journeys feels like a natural fit, and I incorporate its tenants into every set I create.

MUSIC MADE IN CANADA: Music has been a large part of my life since my teen years when I started playing guitar. Used to play popular pop and country songs in bars, songs written by other artists but for past couple decades have focused entirely on writing and producing my own songs across a number of genres: pop, country, blues, and more recently dream pop and what I'm calling whiskey blues dream pop, a style that merges the two and that seems complimentary to my ear. I believe each style can sound good and give people pleasure: that's my goal in writing. And this is how we're going about it. Without hesitation we mix Dubstep with Blues, Minimal and Soul. To us, that's key -- we focus on the soul of the machine; when the machine does not have a soul -- we create one for it. Who are we? There's Maik Helfrich aka '.continue' (Visuals & Production) and Luis Baltes aka Tiger Uppercut (Vocals & Production). We've been together since 6th grade -- making music, watching movies and dreaming of a noisy, colorful world.

Our town is Landau -- too small, really -- but home. We don't draw a distinction between life and studio performances -- to us they are of equal value. We live for long sets with tons of soul and super high energy; great visuals, songs and rap, beatboxing and sunrises as we leave the clubs.

Pamela Jo was born and raised on a family farm in the Appalachian foothills of rural north Alabama. She grew up immersed in old time, bluegrass, gospel, and country music. Her favorite things are the great outdoors and earthy, rootsy, front porch music.

Pamela Jo is a lifelong musician and vocalist whose first instrument was her voice. She started singing at age five and began playing ukulele and later guitar in elementary school. She learned piano and bass guitar in high school, studied classical, jazz, and music theory in college, and later took up banjo and mandolin. If it has strings and frets, hammers and keys, or otherwise makes a musical sound, Pamela Jo considers it her kin. These days Pamela Jo performs original compositions, original arrangements of traditional songs from deep in American history with English, Irish, and Scottish roots, and occasional cover songs. 

Pamela Jo has performed at music venues and festivals throughout the southeastern U.S. and most recently in Ireland. She has won awards in women's vocals, group vocals, and banjo at the Florida Old Time Music Championship. She is a music instructor and has taught workshops in banjo and harmony singing at the Florida Folk Festival and the Will McLean Festival.

Pamela Jo is a member of the Celtic Conundrum band. She also performs as a solo artist, with her own Pamela Jo Band, and with other artists in the Tampa Bay area.
