When it comes to emotion in any motion picture, whether short form or feature length, the music plays a vital role in the delivery of that emotion! Perhaps an orchestral symphony of instruments or a synth heavy electronic structure, the musical score (or intentional lack thereof) helps to full deliver the themes and message that the filmmaker desires to communicate. We had the pleasure of talking to composer, post sound supervisor & audio post editor, Bryan Holt, about his experience in the film industry creating musical scores in a wide variety of film formats & genres!

Thomas Gauder, mixeur son, est au générique d’un nombre incalculable de films clés du cinéma belge, fidèle compagnon de route des frères Dardenne, de Bouli Lanners, de Joachim Lafosse ou de Frédéric Fonteyne.

Sa carrière se déploie bien au-delà de nos frontières. En juillet dernier il apparaissait au générique de pas moins de 4 films sélectionnés à Cannes, "Annette", "Les Intranquilles", "Money Boys" et "Bergman Island". 

Il a travaillé avec Costa-Gavras, Nuri Bulge Ceylan, Chantal Akerman, Tran Anh Hung ou Terry Gilliam.

Il a été nommé à 6 reprises pour le Magritte du Meilleur son, qui a d’ailleurs reçu l’année dernière pour "Duelles", d’Olivier Masset-Depasse.

Il revient pour nous dans ce deuxième épisode d'Hors Cadre sur son parcours, ses premières amours cinématographiques, sa passion pour le cinéma, et la place qu’elle prend dans sa vie.
