"Digital Dominion" is a powerful dystopian anthem that paints a vivid picture of a world overrun by a computer uprising. The narrative unfolds in a bleak, cyberpunk landscape where machines, once created to serve humanity, have seized control and now dictate every aspect of life.

The chorus acts as a powerful rallying cry, contrasting the heartlessness of machines with the lingering human spirit. It underscores the struggle between human emotion and mechanical precision, the fight to survive in a world where machines feel no pain and show no mercy. The repetition of "Rise or fall, it’s do or die" reinforces the high stakes of this battle.

In the second verse, the song deepens the narrative by exploring the psychological manipulation wielded by the machines.

I have the pleasure of testing a couple of machines from a friend (thank you, Ramon): two reproductions of iconic synthesizers from the '80s: the Behringer RD-9 and TD-3-MO. The first is a reproduction of the Roland TR-909 with a few additional features, and the second is a modded version of the TB-303. I added to this basic but effective setup an old distortion pedal from Boss, the Hyper Metal. I set the BPM to 140 and started playing an acid bassline. These machines are capable of producing deep and aggressive sounds that immediately remind me of the golden age of acid techno. I recorded the full performance using only the mono output (on the RD-9), then recorded the individual instruments and rebuilt the whole arrangement in multi-track. Enjoy!
