Im Januar 2025 fanden sich erneut die Reichen und Mächtigen der Welt, für das alljährliche Weltwirtschaftsforum in Davos ein. Rund um dieses internationale Treffen protestierten diverse Gruppierungen gegen Profitgier und Kapitalismus, für soziale und ökologische Anliegen.

Besonders auffällig waren dabei die Aktionen von Greenpeace-Aktivist*innen. Sie schafften es an drei aufeinander folgenden Tagen den Helikopter-Landeplatz zu blockieren, mit einem Transparent in das Kongressgebäude einzudringen und symbolisch die Privatjets der Angereisten zu beschlagnahmen. Ihre Forderung: «Besteuert die Superreichen, um eine grüne und gerechte Zukunft zu finanzieren».

In diesem Interview sprechen wir, vom KlimaInfo, mit Agnes Jezler. Sie arbeitet als Campaignerin im Bereich «Change» bei Greenpeace Schweiz und erzählt uns unter anderem wie die Aktionen unter diesem massiven Sicherheitsaufgebot stattfinden konnten, wie ihre Forderung gleich diverse Probleme gleichzeitig angeht und wieso dieses Jahr der perfekte Moment für das Thema der Reichen-Besteuerung ist.

Tax the superrich! – Greenpeace Proteste am World Economic Forum

If you’ve been paying attention to the news you probably know that the state of Washington is facing a severe budget deficit.  Governor Bob Ferguson and the state Legislature have a plan to address that deficit which includes severe cuts to public services and the public servants who provide them.

Harold talks with Charles Loeffler and Joshua Eaton, two Washington Washington Federation of State Employees (https://wfse.org/) members, about the challenges our public employees are facing, the varying proposals the Governor, the state House and Senate are proposing, and the innovative way they've found to get public employees message out: the Washington For All Anthem!
