Saved Records welcome French DJ, producer and all-round club aficionado Timid Boy into the fray with his subtle yet brilliant distinctive EP. Test Test EP sees him settling into the kind of bass-driven, underground focused techno sound that he reveled in as resident for Rex club in Paris.

A simple but addictive bassline provides the backbone to “Test Test” a track that ebbs and flows with fluid progression. Working a lush groove into the mix, Timid Boy creates a bottom end full of depth and personality. Punchy drums and clicking percussion bring a purposeful tempo without detracting any of the track’s personality or charm.

“I can Do It” is an altogether more frenetic cut. Rapid-fire rhythms permeate the upper crust as a jagged bassline ploughs along below. Driven by rolling bass and flickering FX, the track chugs away with relentless energy and unshifting confidence.

Moving into highly hypnotic and almost surreal textures with “The Girl” we are sucked further into the subterranean soundscape of timid boy. Subtle melodic flickers sketch over the pulsating drive of the track, interplaying perfectly with the enigmatic vocals from French singer-songwriter and actor Arnaud Lellouche, aka Arno Joey. Showing a deft ability for escalating the intensity without blowing the top off, Timid Boy finds a wonderfully unique way to round off his highly impressive EP.

Senso Sounds complies Level 06, one of its periodic collections of new talent, showcasing how healthy the techno scene is right now. Kicking it off is the Amsterdam based DJ and producer Lilly Palmer, whose 'Listen To Me' is a fearsome, driving bomb with clattering percussion and some huge moments. Hamburg native Heerhorst drops 'Prisma', a deep, atmospheric techno cut that displays the producer’s affinity of massive, thick blasts of synth noise. Carbon offers up 'Softly Twisted' - an apt description of the track which teases with a silky groove before providing a slamming, slightly wonky dancefloor workout. French producer Timid Boy’s 'Onris' delivers an infectious melody underpinned with a firing, driving groove. As always with Senso Sounds releases, you get the feeling that the scene is thriving, and there's plenty more of this good stuff to come.

'With a combined fifty-plus years experience at the forefront of the French dance music scene, Timid Boy (Damien Almira) and Ohmme (Olivier Giacomotto & David Lecocq) have the productions credentials to match some of the best in the business.

Now, off the back of their already formidable individual careers, the three electronic musketeers join forces with long-time friend and esteemed stage designer, Alban Piot, for their foursome’s first collective project and one of the most exciting label launches of 2020 – Sacré Coeur Records.

Speaking about the newly formed imprint, Damien Almira commented:
“Sacré Coeur Records is a French techno pool and a kind of ‘dream team' made up of four characters, four strong personalities and four friends with big roots and complementary careers in the music industry. Union is our force. We really believe in this.”

Set up as a platform to champion some of the brightest up-and-coming talents on the French techno circuit – as well as being a home for their own prolific stream of output – Sacré Coeur Records will officially launch in October with the release of Timid Boy’s three-track EP ‘Ceremony’.
Dropping on Friday, October 2, the EP kicks off with a retrospective, ravey title track from Timid Boy, who expertly layers old school synth lines, dark soundscapes and intricate drum patterns, to deliver his impressive debut contribution to the label’s catalogue.

On the flip, the second offering sees Timid Boy hand the reigns to label partners Ohmme, as members Olivier Giacomotto & David Lecocq present their modern interpretation of the original with an upfront, dance floor-ready remix of epic proportions. Last but by no means least, rising French star Matt Sassari steps up to the plate to deliver his own unique edit, as the in-form producer from Marseilles completes a stunning label debut and one of the biggest techno EPs of the year.

OXIA (Diversions Music - France)

OXIA is one France’s most respected DJs and producers, with a career spanning over twenty years and intensive touring on all continents. He has built an impressive list of releases and remixes on respected imprints such as Kompakt, Knee Deep In Sound, Hot Creations, All Day I Dream, Sapiens, Bedrock, 8bit… In addition to his own label Diversions Music.

After several EP's, the Frenchman released his debut album ‘24 Heures’ on Goodlife in 2004 and his second widely acclaimed album ‘Tides Of Mind’ was released in 2012 on Infine. Several collaborations were established as well, with Miss Kittin, Agoria, or Nicolas Masseyeff. With the latter, OXIA also launched Diversions Music in 2016, on which he released 5 EPs. 

In 2017, OXIA’s classic “Domino” was re-released on Agoria's label, Sapiens, and came with a number of very successful remixes. In parallel, OXIA himself released a few remixes, notably for Moby (Suara), and others on Moan, Diversions Music.

2018 has been a strong year for OXIA with his “Reset To Zero” EP plus a remix on Diversions and a contribution to Knee Deep in Sound’s Ibiza 2018 Sampler. His touring schedule is taking him across the globe, from the intimate clubs to the festivals, and for the fifth consecutive year, playing for Music On at Amnesia Ibiza.

2019 saw more releases following, starting with ‘Second Mood EP' on Diversions Music. Then a collaboration with Artslaves on Deeperfect, a remix of John Digweed & Nick Muir’s track “Satellite” on Bedrock, and a remix of Black Circle's track on Radiant.                                                                        OXIA plays for Cercle, and his live-streamed performance has exceeded one million views in a few days.

In 2020, Oxia’s remix for his longtime friend Agoria, “All Over You” feat. Sacha Rudy (Sapiens) was met with great critical success. He also released two remixes on Diversions Music.

2021 starts with a remix of Joseph Capriati's 'Beautiful Morning' (from JC's 'Metamorfosi' album Redimension). This was followed by a collaboration with Yannick Baudino, 'Shadows' on All Day I Dream Summer Sampler. Then a remix for Julian Millan on Diversions Music in October. In December OXIA draws on his inexorable experience and unbridled creativity to deliver a strikingly nuanced underground groovy techno cut 'Fate', on Diversions, with remixes by Dense & Pika and Matt Sassari. Out in December as well, an OXIA remix for the French electro-pop artist Delaurentis.

OXIA starts 2022 with a remix for Popof's 'Serenity' on Form Music.

As a key player of the French electronic music scene, Damien Almira aka Timid Boy is known for his hyperactive tendencies as a DJ, producer, journalist, party organizer, and also, at the helm of label Time Has Changed and Almira Records.

Immersed in music since a young age, learning classical piano for 10 years at the Conservatoire, Damien Almira stepped into the heyday of the rave party scene during the 90's.
After moving to Paris for journalism studies, he became the Deputy editor-in-chief of Trax Magazine. Meanwhile his Timid Boy project became more serious after he was invited by Ellen Allien to become a resident for the BPitch Control nights in Rex Club.

His love for the groove and making people dance did not go unnoticed. After a noteworthy residency, Rex Club gave him the opportunity to run his very own night. 

Nowadays he is also in charge of a party at Nouveau Casino and is often entrusted by Cercle to close out their parties, notably in the Palace of Fontainebleau after Dubfire and in Château de Chambord after Carl Cox.
Lauded by RA where he was featured on mix of the day, the international requests started to come to play at renowned parties such as Panorama Bar, Watergate, Gazgolder, Fuse, D- Edge, Air Tokyo...

The busy artist could have had enough there, yet he decided to delve into music production. His records can be found on labels such as Moan, Roush, Deeperfect, Saved, Senso, Sci+Tec... or his acclaimed imprint Time Has Changed (Oxia, Barem, Mihai Popoviciu, Dennis Cruz, Matthias Meyer...).

In 2022 Timid Boy has releases on Hoary, Blind Vision Dubs, Cyclic, La Chèvre, BienAimer Music, TBX Records, Ibiza Talents, and on his vinyl only Almira Records (with iO Mulen, Mihai Popoviciu...).

Since 2020, with his other project Damien Almira, he has been developing with his residency on Tsugi Radio a micro-house, future house, break beat and underground touch, welcoming quality guests such as Molly, Djebali, Abi, Ben Vedren, Ramona Yacef...

He has signed releases on the latter's label, Lescale Recordings, and on Epice Magique by Frenchman Terence: Terry.

The deep musical knowledge that stems from his unparalleled dedication for music is admirable. Damien Almira/Timid Boy brings all of this history and much more into his sets, as a truly exceptional persona of today's electronic music scene.
