What if a time machine could be built, not from metal but from human tissue, to help us understand cancer and how it responds to treatment?

Dr Alecia-Jane Twigger, Dr Akanksha Anand, Dr Kui Hua, Dr Pedro Victori and Dr Jo Worley from the University of Cambridge have done just that. In this episode, they talk about their project funded by Wellcome LEAP under the Delta Tissue programme to build a 'tissue time machine'. By studying tumour samples from patients with triple negative breast cancer before and after treatment, they aim to build a model that can predict how patients would respond to therapy.

Invisible Hope

Time for healing and unwinding. This one is for your soul and your wellbeing. I have recorded an improvisation on my beloved Yamaha CP80 electric grand piano (late Seventies rare instrument version). I have got it tuned to the miraculous 432 hz instead of 440hz. Somehow it sounds more relaxed. The CP 80 is running through a couple of vintage and modern effects units to add a spheric and dreamy note to this tune. You will hear some almost white noise. This is audible on purpose. White noise helps to calm down your "inner ear". Best with headphones and in a comfortable position. I have ended the piece on the beginning note, so you can listen to it on repeat. Let me know, if this helps? I have created this for a friend who is suffering from a heavy loud tinnitus - this annoying ringing inside of your head. A good therapy is to listen to music that is accurate avoiding the frequencies of your "personal ringing" by filtering the frequency. You can use any tone generator app on your smartphone to find out your frequency by sweeping a tone until it matches the one that you hear. There are also many apps that can provide music with personal filtering. Anyway, a tinnitus is sometimes struggling and often related to stress and high blood pressure. I hope that my music in general is helping you to get some rest. We all need it. PLEASE ENJOY.

Dr. Reedy discusses the difference between therapy and a podcast. He explains that ultimately, we must face what is presenting itself to us in our lives. We must go in and through the pain and difficulty to discover news resources that lie within all of us. He talks about how we avoid parts of ourselves and repress feelings, characteristics, or traits in order to fit in and how the problems that bring us to therapy are a call to the hero’s adventure.
