Erendira, the legendary Purépecha princess from 16th-century Michoacán, Mexico, is a symbol of courage and resistance during the Spanish conquest. According to folklore, Erendira defied traditional gender roles, learning to ride a horse—a skill introduced by the Spanish—to lead her people in battle. Her bravery in confronting the invaders made her a cultural icon for the Purépecha and a symbol of indigenous resistance to colonization.

While her story blends history and legend, it captures the spirit of defiance against oppression. The Purépecha people, known for their strength and independence, resisted the Aztecs and later the Spanish. Erendira’s tale, often told through oral traditions, highlights her leadership, resilience, and the fight to preserve her homeland. Though not fully verified by historical records, Erendira remains a powerful emblem of indigenous heritage and the fight for freedom in Mexican culture.

I invite you on a slow meditative journey into ancient realm of Aztec empire. 
Templo Mayor was one of the main temples of Tenochtitlan, the former capital of the Aztec empire. It was built sometime after 1325 CE and dedicated to two Aztec deities, Huitzilopochtli, the god of war, and Tlaloc, the god of rain and agriculture. Sadly, it was destroyed by spanish conquistadors.

Zyanya is Cracow (Poland) based DJ and producer focused on ethnic downtempo and house music. Inspired by Native American Culture especially Aztec and Mayan, she introduces many elements from those regions into her work, creating unique combination of the tribal jungle vibe with electronic beat. Her style combines unusual rhythms, ethnic chants, nature sounds and traditional instruments.
