The pendulum wave is an uninterrupted lullaby, a slow atrium full of sounds heading towards the "past", a drop in the ocean that repeats itself in time. It can race against time, echo the past, and synchronize with the future.

Return to listening and discussing music. The double collision of the two-track system is the harmony between one's own attitude and the position of others. This kind of "silent communication" in a special period and in a specific environment will be very rare.

Psylocybina welcomes Svarog – a long-standing figure in the world of hypnotic techno – with his mystically and profoundly sounding ‘The Last Hour’ EP.

These four cuts are the final chapter of “23 hours of drama” a big concept that started with his LP released on Edit Selects label in January 2021.

“23 hours” is a metaphor for when dark clouds accumulate over your life. In fear and ignorance, you may throw your hands up in despair. It’s about the illusion of losing control over things beyond your control. Mystical creatures place chess pieces and pawns on the chessboard and checkmate you during the last hour of a game.

The last hour has arrived, when any drama can no longer exist. When everything around seems like a game of the mind and looks like all that remains is to surrender. And once you do, harmony comes.

The EP opens with Esoteric, which sets the tone for the whole EP with its strong kick, deep bass stabs, and choir-like pads. Things get intense with the Pilgrimage where we hear accented four-to-the-flour rhythm intertwined with atonal effects that build the tension, released for a moment when dreamy pads enter. Prophecy speeds things up with its dynamic low-end sequence and vocal chops. We come home with Independence, where the pads, rhythms, and baseline create a feeling of finding yourself again on the dancefloor. The last hour has come to an end.

Originally released on vinyl by R&S in 1994, ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ was re-earthed in 2016 by Nina Kraviz and Ricardo Villalobos, becoming a secret weapon on dancefloors 22 years after its original release. On December 16, ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ gets its first digital release on R&S.
 
Josh Wink has always been ahead of musical trends and walks his own path in dance music. From a young age Wink was exposed to different mysticism and consciousness philosophies. “It wasn’t a big, popular or trendy thing to do at the time, but I was 14 and just did what my mother did… Releasing tracks like ‘Meditation Will Manifest’ and ‘Higher States of Consciousness’, people looked at me as being this deeply profound spiritual guy, but I never really thought about it in that way, even though I’m really into repetitive, transcendental and meditative rhythms. Berghain residents Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann link back to Ostgut Ton’s label launch in 2006 with their first studio collaboration in ten years and the extended Phantom Studies, on occasion of the one hundredth O-TON 12“ EP release.

With Phantom Studies Dettmann | Klock channel their first joined releases Dawning (2006) and Scenario (2007) from over a decade ago with their first co-production in ten years. On this extended, 40-minute 2x12" EP Marcel Dettmann and Ben Klock parlay their deep personal alliance and musical repertoire through emphasis on new functional Techno as much as hypnotic, melodic and soulful music by thinking outside the box. The seven new, original tracks reflect these attributions by communicating to the needs and expectations of both DJs and home audio listeners, but not neglecting one over the other.

Dettmann | Klock | Phantom Studies

After his joining with Ostgut Booking in 2015, his contribution to the Ostgut Ton | Zehn compilation and two 12“es on Ben Klock’s Klockworks label, Ukraine-born, now Berlin-based producer and DJ Etapp Kyle debuts on Unterton.

As with his previous releases Etapp Kyle captures his playful, multi-layered Techno endeavours with single-word track titles: Continuum EP starts off with “Opto”, an atmospheric track with fazing bleeps, ensouled synths and subdued claps – a prime example of his great feel for musical detail. “Ahora” builds upon this vibe with more asynchronous drum patterns, well placed drips of melody, distant pulses, mesmerizing pads and hints of rattles amongst other percussion.

The EPs title track “Continuum” is distinctive through its use of industrial hammer jabs and reduced, puzzling synth pads that are counteracted by a more dominant, steady and stubborn kick drum. “Limb” contrasts unconventional pulsating, hypnotic synth tones with sharp claps and snare sounds, and rounds off this 12“ of all new, puristic and futurist Techno, catering as much to the darker corners as to the brightest spots of the dance floor.
