Taqsim is an original composition; a homage to my Arabian roots and is meant to let the guitar mimic the sound of the Oud or Lute instrument. The effect is achieved by playing with the thumb towards the bridge and bending the notes extensively.

One of TAH RIQ’s more unusual offerings is his unbelievable Personal Wedding Song gift service. TAH RIQ will come to your event and announce to all your seated guests to write down 3 bullet points each about the couple getting married using the pencil and postcard they each have laid before them. Over the course of the following 3-4 hours, TAH RIQ will write a personal wedding song on the spot out of all the collected information and author it into a beautifully lyrical ballad played and sung on the Spanish guitar live in front of all the guests on the same evening. These genius creations skirt the line between playfully embarrassing and romantic and are sure to puncuate any event with sentiment and laughs of insider recognition. 

Deb & Jon - Personal Wedding Song

TAH RIQ's love affair with words and poetry began at age 8 and his love for the Spanish guitar began at the age of 14. By 14 he was entering and winning 1st place in national writing competitions. Having been raised on Arabian music and rhythms in his childhood home in Jordan, Tah Riq committed an unreasonable number of hours to mastering the flamenco style of playing also. That dedication paid off two years later when Tah Riq was awarded a full scholarship to the Royal College of Music in London, the most prestigious music academy in the country, where he studied under master guitarist Charles Ramirez of Spain.
