The EP, “Color Me Complex”, is an introduction to who Taija New is and what her capabilities are as one of today’s artists. Her main focus with this project was to introduce herself to the public as articulately as possible. During the two years of working on the EP, New built her fan base (The Newbians) from the ground up performing across Massachusetts (her home state) and Connecticut. She took the time to learn what her fans loved to hear from her and was sure to include all of these elements in her EP.

Taija New, also known as the Newbian King, is a distinguished Rhythmic Pop entertainer whose remarkable journey began humbly at open mic events in her hometown of Springfield, Massachusetts. It was in these intimate settings that she refined her live performance skills, laying the groundwork for an impressive career. In 2015, Taija made her mark in the music industry with the release of her debut EP, "Color Me Complex," which featured the acclaimed single 'Newbian King.' This empowering track not only challenges the traditional gender binary but also serves as a tribute to her unique identity.

Following her debut, Taija continued to evolve as an artist, unveiling two additional projects, including her highly-anticipated sophomore album, “Heart on the Stage,” released in 2017. This album was accompanied by a two-year album-titled tour, showcasing her dedication to her craft and her commitment to delivering unforgettable live experiences.

Throughout her career, Taija has exhibited an unwavering dedication to her growth as an entertainer.
