Woodsman (ORIGINAL)

Vivian Maier took thousands of photographs over a forty year span and they remained undeveloped, stored away in boxes. After her death a few years ago, an amateur historian bought them for next to nothing at an auction. He discovered a plethora of amazing images. I have been fascinated by this story for a while now and have finally finished a song as my response to it.

Silent Guns (ORIGINAL)

Inspired in part by Lysistrata , a comedy by Aristophanes. Originally performed in classical Athens in 411 BC, it's about one woman's extraordinary mission to end The Peloponnesian War. Lysistrata persuades the women of Greece to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers as a means of forcing the men to negotiate peace — a strategy, however, that inflames the battle between the sexes. Go figure!

Stop The War (ORIGINAL)

Initially, this song was inspired by a TED talk by Jackson Katz about violence toward women but it has much broader and deeper relevance. It's a TED talk everyone needs to watch and coincidentally is particularly topical at the moment in New Zealand given some of the horrendous acts of abuse currently heading our news.
