Hailing from Egypt, TakaDumm @taka-dumm spent nine years immersed in the beats of Europe, with a soulful detour in India. Influenced by his father’s eclectic playlist and the vibrant music scene in Prague, he is a proud father of NŪR @nur_prague, who shapes his DJ sets with diverse influences. Seeing the dance floor as an emotional canvas, he is a storyteller, connecting hearts through beats. For him, the DJ booth transcends being a music space; it’s a vessel for shared experiences and connections.

Hailing from Egypt and currently based in Prague, takaDumm has spent the past decade in Europe exploring its secrets and sounds, taking a soulful detour in India. Influenced by his father's eclectic playlist the desert, and the post-2011 revolution underground music scene in Egypt, he draws inspiration from the vibrant music culture in Prague. takaDumm co-founded   NŪR a Permanent platform & temporary spaces curated by Prague based collective, serving as the co-curator of Prague's beloved former community space, Grid Center that recently has turned into a radio station, also co-founded Darna a project for swana region community , made by groups of middle easterns.

Over the years, takaDumm has played various roles within the scene, from creating atmospheres and organizing parties to handling bookings, delving into production, and playing diverse DJ sets. Shaped by his activism, he tirelessly strives to amplify minority voices, confront oppressions, and explore the realms of bassy and groovy electronic music sounds.

TakaDumm perceives the dance floor as an emotional canvas, positioning himself as a storyteller who connects hearts through beats. Beyond considering the DJ booth a mere musical space, he views it as a vessel for shared experiences and connections. For him, what truly matters are the people; the DJ is merely a tool to showcase music and evoke emotions, enabling individuals to express feelings they might not have been aware of before.

Influenciado por el biblioteca musical de su padre, el desierto y la escena underground de Egipto tras la revolución en 2011, takaDumm encuentra su inspiración en la vibrante cultura musical de Praga. Cofundador de NŪR, una plataforma permanente y de espacios efímeros; co-curador del ex espacio comunitario Grid Center, que recientemente se ha convertido en una estación de radio; cofundador del proyecto Darna, dedicado a las comunidades de la region de SWANA y organizado por grupos de Oriente Medio.
 
A lo largo de los años, takaDumm ha asumido varios roles en la escena: desde crear ambientes y organizar fiestas a llevar los bookings  con su respectiva logística y pinchar un abanico de DJ sets. Conformado por su activismo, es incansable a la hora de amplificar las voces de las minorías, combatir la opresión, y explorar los ámbitos del del bass más groovero en la música electrónica.

Music has a way of healing us. These tracks are deeply personal to me—they were part of series of workshops I hosted back in 2021 and 2022 at grid,center, where people would lie down, do some breathe work , and let the music guide them inward. Those moments were always powerful, not just for the attendees but for me as well.

Fast forward to the Shella Radio party in Ankali’s listening room, two years later. My favorite DJ booth was empty, the listening room booth in Ankali. Surrounded by friends, I realized that we’ve all been navigating tough times—the world has felt heavy. So, I decided to step up and play music for my friends, to create a space where we could all feel something meaningful together.

This set captures that moment. It’s a piece of my heart, recorded so I can now share it with you. May it bring you the connection, release, peace or whatever you’re seeking.

Artist & Community Advocate, hailing from Egypt and currently based in Prague, takaDumm is a dynamic DJ, producer, and community advocate with over a decade of experience across Europe and India. His love for music began with his percussion journey with the darbuka, shaping his unique sound that blends bass-driven and experimental electronic music.

As a co-founder of NŪR, a collective dedicated to creating spaces for community connection and collaboration, & supports emerging artists, his work as co-curator of Shella Radio further emphasises his commitment to amplifying diverse minority voices.

takaDumm views the dance floor as an emotional canvas, that we all come to feel equal,  let go, and release, using music to weave stories and forge meaningful connections. He’s currently preparing for a live set debuting in the summer of 2025. 

Motivated to express his perspective on the world around us, takaDumm is ready to bring a diverse array of genres to the dance floor.
