As our #014, we present Answer Code Request, the Berlin-based artist who has established himself as one of techno's most innovative voices. With releases on renowned labels such as Ostgut Ton, MDR, and Monkeytown Records, and a celebrated residency at Berghain, ACR's hybrid sound—melding intricate breaks, pad-driven harmonies, and industrial textures—has solidified his place at the forefront of the scene.

ACR’s set begins on a mystical note, drawing listeners into a deep sonic journey interspersed with fragmented sounds. From the start, his signature style is unmistakable, immediately captivating and immersive. The rhythms gradually become more danceable as lush pads dissolve into the background, giving way to groovy, dub-influenced, and house-tinged elements. Halfway through, ACR shifts gears, seamlessly transitioning into more techno-driven beats that evolve into energetic house bangers.

Here's a recording of my Live Set at Festival Forte made using modular synthesisers and hardware machines. It's a bit rough in places, but you can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and I love that most about performing improvised live sets. The story talks about four friends in search of truth during a hunt, guided by a mysterious chemist, undulating between street, party and catacombs.

We filmed the clip in Lyon in november. I would like to say that the clip has nothing to do with the Corona virus ! 😷
