Takao - Shame For You (Souvenirs EP)

A few tracks I made out on my year abroad in Nantes. All very much house based, and heavily sample based. A few techno influences and an acid sounding track.

Humis starts of with a heavy atmosphere, the energy and tone being pushed along by a hypnotic sample, sucking you into the track until we descend into a euphoric piano breakdown. The vocal samples keep the track funky until we are met by some heavy synth bass stabs, drenched in reverb.

Souvenirs goes down a slightly more melancholic route, an ambient introduction combined with crunchy drums and a gitched acoustic guitar until we are met with the bass and the funky nature of the track is revealed.

Shame For You creates a tense atmosphere from the start, with strange vocal samples flitting in and out of the track. It builds up slowly but surely, acid bass pumping away until finally we are met with a cute breakdown only to be sucked back into an almost tech-house second drop.
