"TakaTuka literally means ‘noise’ or ‘clatter.’ And our music is, in a
sense, the clatter of all the voices of the world".

TakaTuka make their own interpretations of balkan gypsy and some turkish traditional songs. They sing in more than eight languages and their sound is mainly follk but it bears glimpses of jazz, blues, reggae or ska.

TakaTuka means also "joy, fun", and so the name is well chosen for that band that plays always with a smile on their faces and leads crowds dance to exhaustion!

The band has been playing together since 2010. At the begining they were just three friends playing for fun, on the streets, on the road, on their way for south Turkey. Soon the project got bigger, as other musicians joined. They now play regularly on some of the most well known world- music cafes of İstanbul, such as Araf, Haymatlos, ... but they can still be seen playing on the streets of Taksim or Kadıköy every now and then.
They recently participated on some of Turkish tv shows and documentaries.
