Story:

Colonel Kidrick's squad disembarked from the dropship. Sent to secure a colony that had gone silent, they were prepared for insurrection or bandits — not what they found. Suddenly the sand erupted. Spindly, insect-like creatures the size of horses, their exoskeletons glinting in the light, attacked. Kidrick calls for reinforcement but nevertheless fought at the frontline with his team in a merciless combat. They fought through the night, holding their ground despite mounting casualties. Though their numbers dwindled, their spirit burned bright as Colonel Kidrick yelled the directive:

Music:

The tracks starts with some synths that melt into soft and slow string harmonies to express the calm trip to the colony. The encounter of the aliens is sonically expressed with synth braaams, low brass and a string ostinato. A bright horn melody and rhythmic short strings should match the heroic vibe. The following part with mainly minor chords show the loss and sorrow of fellow soldiers. The battle continues with even more intensity of the utilized instruments in full dynamics. Aggressive bass pulses support the string shorts, trumpets and horns play a strong melody passing their role to octaved strings. Choir shorts and a drumkit enforce the rhythm until the intro reoccurs at the end.
