Emerging Dutch producer, Talee, embarks on the beginning of his journey alongside Disco Halal with the arrival of his two track EP, ‘Romantic New Wave Vol. 1’. Honing a truly genre-bending attitude, the artist presents a psychedelic dreamscape that subtly conveys his romantic worldviews through a mixture of both electronic and acoustic instrumentation. It’s the expertise in which he blends these sounds that is the key to his expressive sonic output, with rumbling vintage synthesisers, raw vocals, and functional guitar chords each playing vital roles in his musical repertoire, that's reminiscent of acts like LCD Soundsystem, and Red Axes.

Developed throughout the pandemic, ‘Romantic New Wave Vol. 1’ is a deeply emotive EP which lyrically delves into the artists personal defects, fuelled as a by-product of loneliness and boredom. Label head Moscoman noticed the young producer’s talents early on, and during many months of tweaks and feedback, a beautiful partnership was formed that delivered special results. Whether it be on the down-tempo groove of ‘Amor Fati’, or the addictive, indie-dance led track ‘Afterparty’, Talee makes quite the introduction. This release sets the scene for a story we can’t wait to unfold.

Born out of a psychedelic experience, Rotterdam-based artist Talee takes you on a trip into the depths of his imagination. Utilizing his voice, vintage synthesizers, and guitar licks blended with electronic beats, Talee blurs the lines between genres, and forms a repertoire reminiscent of acts like LCD Soundsystem, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, and James Blake.

Making his debut on Berlin-based record label Disco Halal, Talee presented two-track EPs ‘Romantic New Wave Vol 1’ and Vol. 2, under the mentorship of label-head Moscoman, he toured the project at 25+ live shows across the Netherlands. The same genre-bending attitude also shows in his DJ sets. During an his ‘Romantic New Wave’ show on Rotterdam’s infamous Operator Radio you might hear him mix the latest Tame Impala into an old R&S record and mix back to an ecstatic club vibe within minutes. Under the same banner he hosts his own club nights in the most beloved indie club in town; Rotown.

Talee has been moving through the Anjunadeep ecosystem for the past year, with James Grant and Jody Wisternoff remixing one of his tracks for their Anjunadeep 15 compilation earlier this year. In September 2024 he delivered his first solo Anjunadeep project, the ‘One Step At A Time’ EP. He comments: "One Step At A Time symbolizes slowly getting to know your inner child and finding your creative spark in life. Playing, feeling and exploring your most innocent and foolish endeavors and integrating these experiences to take your next steps in life. Meeting your divine playing partner."
