2015 saw Stephan Bodzin release his second full length, “Powers of Ten”, as well as a new single on DJ Tennis’ and Tale of Us’ taste making label Life and Death. The album is another magical piece of work that focuses on melody and rhythm, on fat bass and vivid sound design and is a truly captivating journey through the mind, music, body and soul of one of dance music’s truly modern greats. After its release, a great team of modern music makers was enlisted to remix tracks from it: Maceo Plex & Shall Ochin, Fur Coat, Extrawelt, long time musical sparring partner Marc Romboy, Pan-Pot, Max Cooper, Agents of Time, Dominik Eulberg and many more all contributed to what is an essential collection. With a remix of ‘Sleepless’, a Pan-Pot track from their latest album, Stephan Bodzin closed the latest chapter of 2015 in what has been an exhilarating musical journey in his capable and creative hands.

Matthew Dear lands on Hot Creations under his Audion moniker. The electrifying Starfucker is remixed by house music veteran Ian Pooley and the notorious young NYC duo The Martinez Brothers.

In true Audion style, Starfucker takes a series of unexpected turns and the groove propelled track is made to shake up big rooms. Audion’s second original Need Your Loving is equally intoxicating, with subtle vocals and driving drums. Matthew Dear as Audion is responsible for hit releases such as Suckfish and Mouth To Mouth. Barnt and Stephan Bodzin, two artists whose stand-out performances at recent Afterlife events have made them firm favourites with the crowds, are tapped for the remixes of Tale Of Us & Vaal's latest single 'Monument' (AL006). They both take on the title track, Barnt opting for a rolling, percussive direction and Bodzin more ethereal and transportive. For the digital-only third contribution, Adriatique (the Swiss duo of Adrian Schweizer and Adrian Shala) give the drums some extra punch and cloak the vocal in spacey reverb.

Just in time for summer, and another huge season of gigs across the world, Maceo Plex returns to his own Ellum Audio with a sure to be huge new single.

This is Maceo’s first outing since his excellent Mutant Robotics release in 2018, but in the months since he has continued to be a leading light in the global house and techno scene. A spellbinding performer who takes the crowd into another dimension, the Spanish based American is just as adventurous in the studio and once again casts another magical spell with this new EP.

‘When The Lights Are Out’ is a ready-made anthem that serves up a seven- minute techno trip of the highest order. It is deep and masterfully melodic, of course, with slick drums setting an inviting mid-tempo pace and the melancholic chords adding lasting emotion to the groove.
