Rising Of The Sun

Moods for piano want to evoke a certain feeling of peace, serenity and contemplation by combining simple melodies, certain intervals and rhythms. The sustain pedal is used almost continuously to create a rich pallet of sounds. The intention is to slow down and find tranquility.

This composition for symphonic orchestra won the 1st prize at the Vienna New Year's Concert International Music Competition (category Composition) 2025. It was performed live at the Vienna New Year's Concert on the 10th of January 2026 by the Wiener Stadtorchester, conducted by Prof. Christian Schulz, at the Musikverein in Vienna.
