DE RIO 001 is the first release of the collective from Florence ‘DE RIO’ as a newborn label.

The record is a V/A born and conceived in 2021 featuring three banging dj-tool tracks from DE RIO’s residents. The sound and stylistic research of each artist is shown in different sides of techno music: on the A-side we find ‘Climax’ by Abo, a trance-y, progressive, acid track, mixing glitched sounds and acid basslines, evolving and turning into continuous and frenetic drops; TOMO then delivers breaks and Detroit stabs in ‘Banagalore’, a big-hitting-kick, percussive and warehouse-oriented track. The Ep is closed on the B-side with ‘Red Dial’ by Plastique01: a solid 90’s rhythm with a dreamy and romantic pad giving life to a 145 BPM proper techno track.

Blackout Audio presents to you ʻBlackout Audio Remasteredʼ, which will be re-releasing all the former classic Blackout Audio vinyl releases as exclusive re-masters for todayʼs digital world. The first in this series is the classic ʻCompressed EPʼ that kick started the label over ten years ago, subsequently giving birth to one of the biggest techno anthems of all time. Featuring on the playlists of Dave Clarke to Sven Vath and everyone with an ounce of interest in techno music, this EP went down in the history books as a momentous release that was to characterize the distinctive and driving machine-like sound of the label for the years that followed.

Established duo Mark EG and Chrissi both deliver classic originals of Deranged and Compressed but it is of course Chris McCormack that pulls the trump card here with his unmistakable, remix of ʻCompressedʼ. This incredible work of art, with twists and turns at every available juncture is simply mesmerizing–the tension here is unlike anything you hear in techno music these days.

Ø [Phase]’s 2015 album ‘Alone in Time?’ was the second LP in a remarkable line of releases on Token since 2007. Token65 is a retrospective tribute to the record, offering remixes of two of its tracks.
 
The utilitarian discord of R-Mash is remixed by James Ruskin & Karl O’ Connor (Regis) under their recently-rekindled O/V/R collaboration. Their interpretation highlights the rattling percussion of the original and its juxtaposition with the tense and uneasy anti-harmony that emerges from its pulse.

On the other side, Ø [Phase] revisits the album’s title piece. ‘Alone in Time?’ originally appeared as a restless arrangement, driven by its fluttering melody and bolstered by a damp, staggering kick. In its reimagined form, the track is forged into a solid construction for the dancefloor, with its impatient theme re-appearing as a delirious climax.

Heavily influenced by his father who owned a music store, Talfelt began playing guitar at the age of 7 years. Discovering the world of musical instruments and with early support and help by his brother he started to jam around using a variety of different hardware and soon found himself being attracted to the realms of electronic music. Together and as 'Team Raw-Cut' they brought out their first EP shortly after.

Inspired by 90's Old School Rap and the skating culture one of his turning points was when he got his hands on an Akai MPC for the first time. Fascinated by the complexity and the possibilities of drum programming he learned quickly and began to elaborate his workflow and production style even more. With an almost fully analog studio setup, the project 'Talfelt' started back in 2017 as symbiosis of both, his musical approach as well as his well-routined and structured workflow resulting in an outstanding creative output with passion, care, and style.

While focussing on uplifting, diverse, and atmospheric Electronic & Techno he also works under his second alias 'Dioxid' which approaches more functional, tool-ish, and propelling styles. With his debut on Instinkt Lab followed by releases on Entourage Concept, Coded Platform, and Vitus' Curse the journey is only at the beginning with loads of projects waiting in the wings.
