„Süran“ describes a feeling of being happy and at peace. A mood free from tension, a state of comfort - a feeling you most likely sense when dancing! Erhan Yılmaz (@erhanyilmazedits)has composed this EP for experiencing exactly this. When editing music, his source of inspiration is the research of ethnic cultures and ancient stories. New melodies pop up in his mind and getting transformed into groovy tunes that are now meant to inspire you! Together with the remixes by Ohxalá, Spaniol, Jack Essek and Lola Villa, we’re taken on a journey through oriental palaces and rides through the desert. In anticipation of summer we already feel the warm sand under our feet - ready for dancing!

Milan 2020, isolated from the world but lucky to be surrounded by its loving family, Adarí chose to get the best from the dystopian reality of the lockdown that all of us had to face. He chose to face this as an opportunity to invest it in what he loves: his family and his music. In the basement of its home Adarí builds a home studio and starts producing every single night after his daughters go to bed. The words "Walking down the road of nothing, I see Infinite Choices" perfectly represent his thoughts during that time of isolation. The void created by the unusual context is like a road free of distractions that can show you the infinite opportunities of your future. And music is the fuel for your imagination that allows you to discover beautiful places, places that might not even exist in the real world, places where the past and future can meet each other and give birth to something new and personal. The debut EP of Adarí is the synthesis of his dreams in that basement, the sounds from the places once reflected in his eyes, the thoughts that were echoing in his mind, the instruments that were vibrating in his hands.

Sol Selectas is proud to present  a new 5 song EP by Spanish artists German Brigante and Yamil, inspired by the traditional Gnawa music of Morocco, and featuring remixes from 2 of Morocco’s leading DJ / producers; Amine K, and Mr ID.

Spain and Morocco are neighbors and share many similar cultural influences and musical traditions.
German and Yamil’s  love for these pure and beautiful sounds fueled the creation of this EP. All 3 tracks are collaborative efforts which really display the pure essence of Gnawa music. You can envision hearing these songs played live in the Medina square of Marrakech, or by the fireplace on a desert dune in the Sahara.

“Kibo” features the incredible vocals and guembri playing of Mehdi Nassouli, and has a unique organic sound with lush bass lines, percussions fills, and dramatic string arrangements. The remix by Mr ID, takes the song even deeper into soulful deep house territory, a style MR ID is well known for. 

“Basari” the title track, is built on a funky bass line, analog synth stabs, tribal percussion fills, and mythical vocal chants with a transcending build up, and release.  Amine K, a long time friend of the label, adds his peak time twist to the tune, creating a dance floor filler.

The final tune “Gnawa” reinterprets a classic Berber tune with a solid mid tempo groove, deep bass, heart opening chants, and some psychedelic drum work.

“A recurrent theme in my productions, I wanted to explore the mystical and spiritual this time through a representation of the owl, an animal that always fascinated me, as it is depicted in many myths and legends as a mysterious symbol of wisdom, omens and prophecies. In this track, I wanted to highlight its mesmerizing low frequency hooting sound and the ambiance of its natural habitat. “Buhero”, spanish for “owl roost” refers to the nesting place that owls come back to after a night of hunting to rest.” - Nat Barrera

Cosmovision presents '' Animals of the Earth ''

The human race has lived and shared this space we call Earth with the animal kingdom for millions of years but today, most cultures have abandoned the idea that humans are animals like the others. Our modern societies have been treating Mother Earth as if it was their property, extracting resources, polluting constantly, changing the landscape, killing the other animals we and destroying its natural balance.

Since the Industrial Revolution, humanity has killed 83% of all wild mammals and half of all plants of the Earth. Two hundred species of living beings are going extinct every single day. We collectively need to change so many things in areas such as the use of plastic, meat consumption, contaminating energies, day to day overconsumption and more. How can artists raise awareness regarding this?

Thinking on how to be simple but at the same time Universal, Cosmovision Records presents ¨Animals of the Earth¨. For this project we have gathered to co-create an ecosystem that lives in a music album. Producers from many places on Earth explored their connections with our animal cousins, remembering that the condor, the rabbit, the deer, the frog and all the others are our partners in the long trip that this green and lively planet takes in the Universe.

We invite you to come with us on this journey through the musical ecosystem of the ¨Animals of the Earth¨ to discover, respect and care for these beautiful beings that live with us.
