This month on RKPR we are pleased to have one of the biggest names out of Armenia, Due Supacooks!

It's undeniable fact that men are the best cooks in the world, and it applies to Armenian duo Supacooks, whose imposing cooking attracts real gourmets. On their menu you can find different types of original and new music recipes, created in Deep House, Progressive House and Melodic Techno styles. Music salads by Supacooks are unusual because of their components, you will not find them in any supermarket or refrigerator. Tracks born in the creative process, but enthusiasm and inspiration does not always come from the kitchen, they catch it everywhere. However proportions of salt and pepper followed perfectly.
- Supacooks is a Yerevan-based Armenian duo that consists of Manuk Manukyan (a.k.a. Deep Danny) and Levon Davtyan (a.k.a. Leon Gris). The duo was founded in 2012 and is specialized in production and performance of industrial and urban electronic music, in particular: progressive house and melodic techno.
- They won the nominations "Best Track of June" and "Best Track of July" in 2013 and 2015, during national alternative music award named Van Music Awards.
- In July 2015, Supacooks received an offer to remix the song "Only Child" by the popular British singer Sophie Ellis- Bextor, which was released by the legendary sound producer Paul Okhenfold’s label - Perfecto Records.
- They founded their own label - Kitchen Recordings - late in 2015.
- During 2016-2017 they began to appear in the top charts of various online platforms, and in August 2017 their track "Aftermath" released by the famous German label Parquet Recordings rose to 3d place in the Beatport Progressive House top 100 tracks, and finally became one of the bestsellers of 2017.
- In summer of 2017 Supacooks were invited to the annual GEM Fest, electronic music festival in Georgia, in 2018 Epic Eye and Ahoora festivals in Armenia.
- In 2018 and 2019, beside local clubs they appeared in Bessonnitsa (Moscow) and Barka (Krakow), were released on a number of popular labels like: BeatFreak, Outta Limits, Dear Deer, Timeless Moment, Lost On You, made remixes for cool artists like: Betoko, The Organism, Morttagua, Miss Monique and more...
- 2020 and 2021 where full of music, included remixes for Weekend Heroes, Matan Caspi, Dmitry Molosh and Kamilo Sanclemente, playing label showcases in Moscow (Gazgolder Club) and Kazan (Plombir).

Huge one for us. We are over the moon for this, our biggest guest mix so far! We’ve been fans of Ruben’s for years now. His tracks and remixes are obligatory references in the gigs we play and the sets we mix. Meeting him in person at ADE last year was a treat and such a chill experience at the same time.

Ruben Karapetyan is a proud Armenian born in Yerevan & raised in Los Angeles, California. A veteran DJ who got his first pair of decks 3 decades back, he has been influenced by the ‘90s rave movement, as well as top notch pioneers of the Electronic Music industry such as Sasha, John Digweed, and Nick Warren amongst others!

Dubbed as Armenia’s Top Electronic export back from the late ‘90s by Zrutsaser, one of the biggest Music/Entertainment magazines at that time in Armenia, getting him on their front-cover, while previously hosting musicians & artists such as Madonna, Eminem, ao..!

In 2020 Ruben’s name got known to the modern electronic music industry with a signing on Greek imprint Movement Recordings, receiving massive remix treatment by heroes of Progressive House such as Stan Kolev & Emi Galvan in his ‘Gignesthai’ single that came in November, while his 2nd release entitled 'Hathor' including remixes by Matan Caspi & Stan Kolev reached #1 on Beatport’s Top10 prog releases. In 2021 Ruben signed with UK-based Lowbit Records with ‘Teardrop’ & ‘Karo’ following in Spring 2021 with remix treatment by Paul Angelo & Don Argento, and Alfonso Muchacho.

Since that time, he’s been a mainstay on labels like Mango Alley, UV, 3rd Avenue, One Dot Six Two, Univack, Transensations, Droid 9, Meanwhile Recordings… in addition to now running his own label, RKP Records.

Experiments with different sounds, blend of deep atmospheric textures, dense bass, non-standard synth progressions and rhythmic groove sets, filling with some oriental motives, make Anatoly's music distinctive and recognizable.

His releases also were supported by remixes of Matan Caspi, Stan Kolev, Jody Wisternoff, Tocadisco, Several Definitions. 

One of his tracks called  "Ganesa", lasted in the Top 10 of the best Progressive House tracks of the Beatport for several months and became the hallmark of the artist. Now Anatoly is working on new releases, which will be published soon.
