Dmitry Selipanov - Mallet or bow

This is yet another tune from that silly project of mine. The focus of this particular one is a logging town in the game's world, which is located along a river. Although most of the city is still forested in, a lot of the surrounding area has been logged, replanted, and logged again for hundreds of years. The industry in this  town is very old, and a lot of the mills in town are as old as the oldest trees within the town.
There's a lot of machines here, working day and night, alongside their living counterparts, and lots of conveyor belts in the trees. (So basically Wood Zone >_>; )

The town (Zandvoort, by name) isn't that far from the town of Zolder, whose song you can find here: https://soundcloud.com/leila-wilson-woofle/deep-forest  Both were once the lands of the fox-tribes, but now are a bit more international.

Monomer is the musical alias of Gavin Allen. Born in Massachusetts, he still lives in the Boston area, working in game development by day and cranking out wicked bizarre jams by night. His musical journey began in the 3rd grade orchestra, taking pit stops in a handful of rock and jazz bands as well as the Berklee College of Music before winding up in the wonderful world of chipmusic.

Monomer about Labyrinth:

"Labyrinth is everything I love about synthwave and chipmusic: chunky staccato bass lines, soaring melodies, oceans of spacious reverb and heavy, pumping drums. It was written between daydreams of androids, brain-hacking, and digital kingdoms fraught with the monsters in the machine. It was the most fun I've ever had working on music, and I hope that shows in each and every track.

Written gradually over the course of a year and a half, Labyrinth turned out to be the biggest musical challenge I've faced so far. It incorporates a wide array of instruments, from synths like Plogue’s Chipsounds VST and u-he’s Diva, to live guitar on a Fender Telecaster. My main goal after Quite Operational was to create an album where each song had a unique character, not only in the composition but also in the arrangement, production and mixing. This led to a lot of new territory for me, which was both exciting and terrifying, but I’m extremely happy with the end result and can’t wait to share it.

This album wouldn't have been possible without help from some fantastic friends. A special thank you goes out to Bill Mueller, Trevor McEwen, Mark Barry, Tim Gardiner, and Katie Trotta. In addition, a huge thanks goes to Steve Jenkins at Telefuture and C-jeff at Ubiktune for their encouragement and advice with this release, and to Rufus Blacklock for his awesome artwork and incredible enthusiasm. It's 2531. The countries are split into three groups who are at a never-ending war - The Europes, The Americas, and The Asias. Earth is currently getting to the point where it is uninhabitable due to the rubbish and the smoke being poured out of the thousands of factories everywhere. 

The groups finally unite in a worldwide effort to get humanity off this planet, starting a project which you are a part of, known as Umbra. Their goal is to get all mankind off Earth and to another inhabitable planet where they can begin from the start and not make the same mistakes made earlier. 

The laboratory have discovered a planet which seems suitable - it has an atmosphere, living creatures, plants, running water, and the temperature sits at around the temperature of Earth. The only thing they are curious about is the chemicals and compounds found on the surface, which are unidentifiable and appear to be harmful. The laboratory need to find a way to test the dangers of these compounds, so they send a probe out to collect a variety of minerals and compounds on the surface. They then take these materials back to the laboratory for testing. 

The laboratory gather a group of convicts sentenced to death for testing. They individually get each convict to be injected with the compound, and then record their brainwaves as sound to see the effects. Each of these sounds have been labelled, and are then shipped away. These are the sounds you are able to listen to. It is up to you to determine which sounds are deadly, and which are safe. 

The future of mankind rests on you.
