Talkativ consists of Clarence Jessop (vocals, piano, synth), and Kyle Hanagarne (drums). Clarence taught himself the piano and started writing music when he was 9 years old, recording his songs to a cassette tape through an old stereo. He struggled with severe stuttering throughout his youth, and at 15 taught himself guitar and starting singing, which ended up curing his stutter. Kyle played drums and bass in several bands growing up, and went on to study percussion at Berklee College of Music. They eventually became neighbors and bonded over their love of music and the band Travis, which led to them playing together and collaborating on original material.
