“Mondo Nuovo” is a trilogy concept by Venetian born artist Simone de Kunovich. 

It is the story of an exploration into an imaginary remote area of our planet, an exotic place where Nature is still uncontaminated, answering only to its own logic. 

Following the first chapter on Superconscious Records, Simone de Kunovich takes us on a journey amongst peaceful native tribes (“Cerchio Magico”), obscure esoteric rituals (“Serpiente Cosmica”), psychedelic delusions (“Paradiso delle Sabbie Mobili”) and breathtaking discoveries (“As I Was Moving Ahead..”) 

Once again the project has been inspired by his Cinema studies, which were focused mainly on 70s World movies by the likes of Herzog and Jodorowski - “Mondo Nuovo” is an intricate and rich opera of sampling and layering, capable of connecting bits from obscure Italian libraries, vocal shots by the G-Man of “Half Life” and monologues from Louis Malle’s 1981 cult movie “My Dinner With Andre”.

Today she'd decided enough was enough. Too much time had been wasted on unworthy people; too much brain power invested in things beyond her control. Her anger at the world was more than justified but for a as long as she could remember she'd let it consume her everyday life. There was only so much she could do, only so much she could say; sitting with the feeling of being helpless was simply an inevitability she had to deal with. It was time she vanquished her angst.

Cosmic party starters and music platform Viscera took their first steps into the label world last year with the release of their first Galactic Service Broadcasting compilation. A sophomore comp followed, continuing their journey into the 'furthest reaches of the dance-floor cosmos', and now they're gearing up for their first digital EP: a batch of low slung, psychedelic creations from Jakarta-based producer Komodo.

Guitar stabs, acid lines and dub-wise rhythms form the basis of the release, which comes complete with remixes from Club Blanco boss Chez De Milo and the inimitable Jonny Rock who brings his signature oddball touch to twist the original into a mind-expanding re-dub.

Your favourite percussion pals take aim at the peak time on Volume 5, offering some different disco with a Balearic bent. Though the 45RPM button on the TDHQ turntable is finally fixed, these edit idiots managed to spill a spritz on the pitch control, so prepare to read this at -6%.

A-side “Slow Motion” sees the crew swing through some Canadian crates, transforming a high energy froth into sweet mid tempo syrup. Hydraulic sequences chug away to a cybernetic 4/4, lasers dance around the vocoder and a spacer woman sends us into ecstasy with an arms aloft chorus. The heads were spinning when this one teased in their radio mix, so don’t miss it on wax.

There’s a double feature on the flip, where TD tackle an overlooked slice of German glam, taming the tempo and turning out a totally cokey bit of disco rock. Repping expert bass grooves, euro boogie breakdowns, unexpected talk box, headband guitar riffs and a killer drum solo, this gives you that tops off at a family function feeling. The vocal version keeps it authentically off kilter, while the dub should appease peeps who think that Barrabas sounds like a deranged Rod Stewart.

Amsterdam's Italo-tastemakers "Bordello a Parigi", "Permanent Vacation" and Paramida's "Love on the Rocks" have found a place for the trance-spacey sound of the berliner based duo.

"Axis Mundi" is a space oddity that rises from our living room all the way to the solar system, Earth, Saturn and Pluto until the end of the Galaxy, no borders, the limit is set by yourself. Hammering and corrosive basslines, full of small little details and shining hidden stars in form of brilliant melodies that will make an exciting journey thru the Milky way.

Longhair show here their great versatility blending different subgenres that vary from Indie dance, leftfield house, Nu-Disco and everything in between and adding their particular cosmic touch and some trancy elements. A record that will work great either at the club wearing our favourite dancing shoes or chilling at home at our sofa.
