"Alright With You" is Talley Summerlin's first release as a solo artist since his band, BE, dissolved in 2002. It was released as a digital single in January 2011. Andy Sharp of Scharf-Sharp Farms in Austin, Texas, recorded, engineered and mixed the track. Talley's brother, Mark, contributed additional guitars. Chris Searles played drums.

Talley Summerlin’s songs are about protest, possibility, life as it is, and the world as it could be. You can find out more about him at www.talleysummerlin.com. 

He was once lead singer and lyricist of a band called BE. They recorded six critically-acclaimed DIY albums of modern rock music from 1989 to 2002. The band’s swansong, Thistupidream, was one of the best reviewed self-produced, independent albums of 2001.

In January, 2011, Talley Summerlin released his first solo material, a digital single for his song “Alright With You.”

In July, 2012, he released a 3-song EP called Shake the Gates.

His lyrics have been called intelligent but passionate, introspective but worldly, melancholy but hopeful. His voice has been called bittersweet. He writes intense songs that also happen to be melodic as all hell.

Talley’s been told he sounds a little like these people: Crowded House/Neil Finn, Peter Gabriel, The Swell Season/Glen Hansard, and Michael Penn.

He has been influenced primarily but hardly exclusively by The Beatles, Killing Joke, The Replacements, XTC, U2, R.E.M. and Carl Sandburg.
