The London-based duo of Kas & Josh, better known as Late Replies, has been skyrocketing into the current tech house and minimal scene over the last couple of years thanks to their infectious groove-laden productions. After joining forces back in 2016, the pair has been making beats nonstop, most of which have seen the light on prestigious labels like Sola, Deeperfect, Kaluki, and more recently Whippin, WYLD, and Knee Deep In Sound. Their sound, which is also followed up on their own imprint Black Label Recs, carefully blends together subtle vocals, catchy rhythms and pulsating basslines, for a unique and compelling dancefloor experience. They might be late... but wgaf? :)

Argentinian newcomer Obeid makes his Tamango Records debut as he serves up four original tunes wrapped on the entitled 'For Real' EP.

The main track is a vibrant energy-fuelled production harnessing heavy drums, driving low-ends, broad hats, and subtle bongo tricks. 'For Real' really fits right at home on Tamango. Next up, 'Freaky Me' brings plenty of energy to showcase a production built for peak-time moments thanks to its catchy vocals, bouncy bassline, and shuffling grooves.

The third track, 'Back To The Ground', brings more B-side feels with its rolling, minimal groove, warping bass licks, fluttering synths, and late hours, echoing atmospheres. Closing the EP is a snaking cut packed full of swing, as 'Replying' brings a bubbly, fast-paced groove that carries ricocheting little acid hits and stompy kickdrums to unveil a production perfect both for the main room and the afters.

You may have heard of Close to Custom for his infectious freebies - truly upbeat dancefloor destroyers - or for his classy releases on respected labels such Whippin, What NxT, or Deeperfect. Whether this is the reason behind his rising hype, you know what to expect: avant-garde edgy minimal booming tracks with a pinch of hip hop and electro/house flavours, oftentimes found in a wise choice of samples from the past. Dutch rising export Close to Custom makes his debut appearance on Tamango with the two-tracker 'Rock The Beat' EP. The Netherlands is one of the most lively countries when we talk about house & minimal upcoming talents, and with releases on NATURE, Whippin, and Deeperfect, Amsterdam-based Close to Custom is definitely a name to look out for.

The lead track truly sticks to its name by providing an essential mainstay dancefloor anthem that rotates around a gliding bassline, tight kicks, skippy drums and an obsessive vocal sample that will make you keep you in the loop from start to finish. The lead tune immediately reveals its catchy bassline, which gradually adds tiny percussive elements to a full-bodied groove until funky fresh guitar slaps and crazy vocal hooks carry the track to the next level. Tamango Records is the imprint of Italian acclaimed DJ and producer Yaya. The name is inspired by the myth of Tamango, who - according to the legend - was the first African slave to fight for his freedom, perfectly fitting with the no-boundaries style of the label. Born in Berlin in 2016 and captained by Yaya himself, the label’s aim is to spread its rainbow vibes from the soul between unusual and curious records, parties, and adventures.
