TAMANGO XPRESS

All the way from the West Coast, the SHIFTY guys are on the rise as one of house music's new raw talents. With just a few releases on their catalog, their music is present in the USBs of Jamie Jones, MEDUZA, Marco Carola, Shiba San, and of course, Yaya. They’re landing on Tamango Records with their debut “Rock The Rhyme” EP, sounding as fresh as the beaches of Huntington Beach, California, where they’re from. This EP wraps their unique blend of house and minimal, rolling with slinky grooves, bubbling basslines, and catchy vocals.

As we approach the end of another fantastic year, Tamango Records' 36th release sees Yaya back on the label's throne. This time, he reached the most profound sound boundaries with "Always Talking" EP, which also sees the man himself, Reboot, deliver an impeccable rework. The track closely follows Yaya's rolling standards, with a sleek, propulsive cut built around contagious, evocative vocals, warping bass, and harsh 909 drums. On the flip, Frankfurt's legendary DJ, producer, and musician Reboot (Cecille, Cadenza) takes the track into even deeper territories, staying true to the original while offering a lush take on "Always Talking" for a sharp, floor-focused, hypnotic remix, whether the sun fades or rises in the morning hours.

Argentinian newcomer Obeid makes his Tamango Records debut as he serves up four original tunes wrapped on the entitled 'For Real' EP.

The main track is a vibrant energy-fuelled production harnessing heavy drums, driving low-ends, broad hats, and subtle bongo tricks. 'For Real' really fits right at home on Tamango. Next up, 'Freaky Me' brings plenty of energy to showcase a production built for peak-time moments thanks to its catchy vocals, bouncy bassline, and shuffling grooves.

The third track, 'Back To The Ground', brings more B-side feels with its rolling, minimal groove, warping bass licks, fluttering synths, and late hours, echoing atmospheres. Closing the EP is a snaking cut packed full of swing, as 'Replying' brings a bubbly, fast-paced groove that carries ricocheting little acid hits and stompy kickdrums to unveil a production perfect both for the main room and the afters.

The London-based duo has made a name for themselves with powerful releases on Hottrax, MicroHertz, and NATURE, rapidly becoming a fan-favourite among fans and DJs. Now, they make their Tamango Records debut with the EP titled "Lollipop".

Opening with "Lick It", the track is infused with rolling, euphoric UK energy, as raw bubbling bassline meets heavy shuffling drums and playful vocals, whilst "Lollipop" features razor-sharp percussions, bouncy bass licks, and echoed vocal chops, crafting a lively dancefloor anthem that reflects the pair’s signature sound.

Opening with head-honcho Yaya's collaboration with a long-time friend of the label Alex Ground, the compilation branches out between rolling fat beats and gorgeous vocal hooks, including tracks by Jamahr, Toman, Nacho Bolognani, Rossi, Santé & The Willers Brothers, Luuk Van Dijk and many more, giving life to a release that mixes renowned and upcoming artists.

Tamango Records is the imprint of Italian acclaimed DJ and producer Yaya. The name is inspired by the myth of Tamango, who - according to the legend - was the first African slave to fight for his freedom, perfectly fitting with the no-boundaries style of the label. Born in Berlin in 2016 and captained by Yaya himself, the label’s aim is to spread its rainbow vibes from the soul between unusual and curious records, parties, and adventures.
