This 2003 track entitled "Express Yourself", penned by Janelle Lee Chee falls under the Social Commentary subdivision of the Calypso genre.  It is a sombre piece that speaks of the then spikes in crime locally.  Express Yourself is a piece that forces listeners to examine varying scenarios that result in the committing of a crime.  It urges society to positively channel their energies using The Arts and creativity as their form of expression rather than crime. Here we present another Tamico Lee classic from her archives entitled "Navidad- It's Christmas" a tropical/island Christmas carol in what locals call a Parang style.  Written by Philip Allard of Los Dinamicos, Lystra Jean- Baptiste and Janelle Lee Chee with arrangements by Janelle Lee Chee, Tamico forges another new path with this never-done-before fusion of Rock, Indian Folk, Soca and Parang musical elements; bringing together cultures as diverse as she is.

Welcome to my world! I can't believe I'm sharing these songs with you guys- they are so personal to me, I've had them just waiting for the perfect moment to share with you- I kept telling myself "...When I'm slimmer, when my voice is better, when I become more famous, when I get a better job, when I could afford a top video, when I was 'perfect'..." ...only to realize that the beauty of the music, is making the music, in the moment, in that situation you're in & sharing those feelings in solidarity with others experiencing similar trials... I realized there is perfection in my imperfection.  It IS HARD, going back to this place where  I was so in love and broken yet I wanted that love, as broken as it was- because I wanted to be loved, and that's where this song came from...that place of loneliness and fear of being alone in a strange land, in a strange place in my life and my relationship....that place of making things work. This one is a throwback from my Summer of 2010- a year I had to, must to return to music.  I was studying Biological Systems Engineering at FAMU (Florida A&M University) in Tallahassee Florida.  Being an international student on a full scholarship I wanted to prove a point to everyone at home who swore I would have gotten sidetracked on campus.  So in true Taurean fashion I stubbornly honed in on pure academics and managed to hide the fact I was a singer for 3 yrs but by the end of my junior semester one I was very frustrated.  I had to return to my first love and made my home in SJGC, the College of Journalism at FAMU from that summer.  This place became my home.  It was where I first mastered Sound Recording and the Digidesign C24 workstation thanks to the tutelage of Glenn Jr.  By the end of my junior year I practically lived in the school's recording studio in Room 2066.  I had keys and all!  I passed many nights and greeted many mornings crawling out from that studio booth and tv studio, students swore I was a final year Journalism major lol.  

So this song is one of the earliest collaborations I did with my classmates in my Sound Recording class in the summer of 2010.  Working with these peers was like taking a bite out of heaven. Our first colab, "Euphoria" describes how we felt about each other and doing music together.  With Shari Star, DJ Big Skinny, Yung Bull- C4, our teacher, Glenn Jr., with lyrics co written by Janelle Lee Chee, may I present Tamico Lee as  a feature on "Euphoria"
