Tamisya is an up and coming DJ from Dublin who burst onto the scene towards the beginning of summer 2019 ⏮

The 22 year old grew in popularity from her regular soundcloud mixes which displayed her versatility among genres and a deep understanding of current dance music 🎵 

Her focus on energy and how her sets develop are a major factor to her success as well as the genres and songs picked by her. In a short space of time Tamisya has earned her stripes by playing in most staple clubs across Dublin 🌐

Tamisya’s appreciation for breakbeat, peppered with her love for house, techno, disco and electronic music gives her sets a depth that is very hard to find 🕺

This week's Local Selection is the 135th edition and we're delighted to celebrate it with a banger of a mix from Dublin DJ Tamisya.

The last couple of years haven't made it easy for DJs to earn their stripes and share their sounds with the masses, but through sheer determination and the support of the dance music community, we have seen numerous young DJs take to the virtual airwaves to make way for a new generation of talent that will no doubt be featuring on many lineups as soon as gigs return. Tamisya will no doubt be part of that list.

Hailing from Dublin, she was inspired by the quality of DJs she heard at clubs on nights out, and in 2019 she began releasing mixes on her SoundCloud which were hugely appreciated and earned her reputation as a versatile DJ with a style that easily encompasses house, disco, breaks and techno.

With a multi genre tracklist featuring a host of Irish and international talent, the hour of music is one you'd expect to hear at a summer festival, boasting funky and summer vibes throughout.

Her mixes begin quite stripped back with emphasis on building energy over time. This style translated perfectly into live performances and her unique song selection helped her build crowds even with opening sets.

This might seem a lot for such a new comer but Tamisya’s momentum doesn’t seem to be slowing as she already has a lot lined up for the rest of 2023 and developing her sound even more in 2024.
