A few years ago, leads Edo Van Breemen and Zachary Gray got a gig playing members of a fictional band in the cult vampire thriller hit Afflicted. Given the constraints of the film’s indie budget, there wasn’t enough money to rent a sound-stage and hire actors for their concert scenes, so the producers worked some black magic and booked the band to play some legit gigs on their made-up European tour, shooting the scenes guerrilla-style with real crowds, the music improvised on the spot.

While playing one of these weirdly verité shows in a Parisian nightclub, Gray and Van Breemen realized that they might be on to something. So when they returned to their respective home bases in Brooklyn and Vancouver, they began to piece together their self-titled debut EP, a cross-continental correspondence that mixes the two’s seemingly disparate styles into a spooky, loopy, chorused-out post-cinematic groove.

YAST are back. After almost two years of silence we get not one but two singles in a row. Following on from the sublime "When You're Around" comes single number two, "Together Forever". As with their previous single "Together Forever" was produced Joakim Lindberg at Double Sun Studio in Malmö. As you’d expect from YAST it’s packed to the gills with melodies, the vocals are typically laid back leaving the guitars to shout at the top of their lungs. Both singles can be found on their upcoming album "My Dreams Did Finally Come True”.

Tamper is like a good sandwich. The meat of the sandwich, the pastrami if you will, is John Gribbin's salt of the earth folk songs. His lyrics span the personal and political, and his melodies could have been lifted from a centuries old Irish song (shhhhhhhh!). Now this is all delivered to your ears via Aaron Barnard's off kilt grooves(the bread in this analogy). Clearly the guy has been listening to wayyyy too much Dilla and he can't seem to land it on the beat.
So then anyways, lastly, ya throw on some melty, analog, arpeggiated synths(the cheez) and then my friends, you've got a sambo!
