Time is running. Das war damals schon so und wird in Zukunft auch eher schlimmer als besser. Deswegen lasst uns einen Moment auf Pause drücken. Schirmchen ins Glas, jetzt ist Zeit für die schönen Dinge.
Wie praktisch, dass wir da einen taufrischen Mix aus Berlin bekommen haben, der uns den idealen Soundtrack zum Schwofen und Schwelgen liefert. Fünf Jahre sind seit Violettas DJ-Debut im Aachener Musikbunker vergangen und obwohl ihr Umzug inmitten einer kulturellen Durststrecke stattfand, hat sie ihre Hingabe für Platten weiterhin mit größter Sorgfalt verfolgt. Kein Wunder, dass die damals noch in der Kaiserstadt lebende Studentin ihre Liebe zum schwarzen Gold in der Party-Metropole eher ausgebaut als vernachlässigt hat.

After a long time we hosted an in-store session again!

To kick it off with the locals we invited the young and thriving @tbainfo crew who made a name for themselves with a diverse range of dance music.

The mix you're hearing is an excerpt from the first set of the day by @kklassik  and @djcusoon. 
They both brought signature records setting the tone for a cheerful wednesday afternoon. Their selection is both playful and honest showcasing their love for electronic music.

Be prepared for an hour full of playful house, combined with some stomping Acid vibes.

While selecting the tracks for the mix and trying out a few things I got a bit nostalgic about the place where I’ve been living for the past years and where I recorded many mixes and where this super friendly postman delivered the records I ordered (thanks Aliyer!) and where the lovely people i lived together with had to stand my music. I guess all this found its way into the mix somehow. I hope you like it!"

Our next podcast is made by Funkmaster Doris straight from Berlin. Instead of plastic and processors Paul "Funkmaster Doris" Jansen puts needles on vinyl. Only the best and juiciest of soul, disco and funk is served; directly on the turntable. Paul celebrates the time when beats were still made by hand and bandleaders played the trumpet instead of pressing the "play" button. But instead of being backwards, Paul always has his ear to the sound of the times; never gets lost in total retro-mania!

For our new podcast episode we've invited wonderful Lusja from Berlin, to record a mix fo us. Lusja loves DJing for friends - and especially playing a smooth warmup to set the mood for the night. Her favourite sound is everything organic, jazzy, groovy & funky from Lofi Hip Hop to House. "It all started ten years ago, in college, I basically walked into this by accident. In Bayreuth we had a college radio, where I worked in the music department. And ever since then, I've always liked to play music with friends. Since 2016 in Berlin. Lately I have been doing some more in connection with the label "Earsight“ - that's organized by some buddies of mine who do a lot of Hip Hop & House related events. They asked me to play a few times when they organized a party or a stream.  Apart from that, Corona has unfortunately caused some things to fail this year, which would have been planned."

In Olivia's minimal set, some of her favorite records are lined up as her "freshly squeezed vinyl treasures". The sound is dedicated to her last indoor gig, in early March at Corsica Studios in London. In her sets, Olivia varies between different genres; up from minimal, house and tech, to break beat, electro down to bass. Above it all lies the passion for producing music together. Music in all various as it comes; from the field of classical music, to the preference for electronic music. Most of all sharing many beautiful events with a group of friends that are very much influenced by electronic music. This led her to finally start to DJ herself. For about two years she has been organizing parties and various events in the surrounding area of Heidelberg. Together with the Breidenbach label and the feminist "Zena collective", the Zena collective have given themselves the task of supporting women*, trans and non-binary in front of and behind the decks, by providing a network and creating a safe space. 
The focus is on the structural disadvantage of women, trans and non-binary in the field of electronic music and is not only on the music being played.

The next guest in our podcast series is Jonas aka Mojo from Münster.
It became clear to us, after an intensive exchange of music, that our taste is as diverse as the music selection in our shop. Heavily influenced by listening to hip hop, Jona's developed a great passion for collecting vinyl and to become a DJ. “The music must be danceable - like disco with edits’ and of course some house influences too.” That is somehow the sound of the legendary ‘Velvet Party Events’. Velvet is the radio, that Jonas has been curating, on Soundcloud, for almost 3 years. Some well-known, talented artists have performed their music here, including Lusja, Jamal F or Louis Largo. "I played the mix because the music just matched the mood and the weather was suitable nice!" (Naturally everything from vinyl of course.) Enjoy listening have a nice Sunday and relish the sun!

We would like to introduce you Julie Fleischer from Munich for our TamTam Podcast 022! Julie lived in Paris for a long time, where she started djing in 2007. At this time a lot of her friends started collecting vinyl –„So I did it too. My first gig came three weeks later. The funny thing is, that I never played any French Pop in France. I liked to listen it by myself but in front of the audience I liked to try some things out and play a diverse sound. I began with Detroit-Techno then Chicago House, Disco and finally dig some cheesy House classics. Everything quite mixed up with everything possible, and only with records from vinyl of course, because it’s just awesome! I really have no desire for digital music. Not even my phone has a digital track on it - spotify is cancelled. I only listen to records, radioshows in the car or mixtapes."

Our next mix is from Berlin by our friend Marbod. It’s a tribute to the experimental spirit of the early 70s; 
where Krautrock, Punk and New Wave bands inspired the upcoming electronic music scene.
"The love for music has developed through the records I collect since 1997. Instead of being a classic DJ, I see myself more as a music lover. Whereas the „1210s“ in the house Puchta’ and the numerous Techno & House records - up to the big brother from the nineties, have increasingly fascinated, influenced and accompanied me as a teenager. I played; guitar, drums, flute, whirled around on synthesizers in numerous punk and new wave bands; Also I listened to Techno, House & Hip Hop on the side. However, from 2001 on, I have been increasingly involved with electronic music. Therefore I found it exciting to dive into other spheres to explore myself in those areas.“

After brick first stepped behind the decks during his Berlin years and found his way behind the booths of Killekill, Warning  and other events at ://about blank and Griessmuehle (RIP), he has appeared at local events such as Catacombs of Utopolis and spacescape. As the humble dude he is he never put himself in the spotlight but those who discovered him usually signed in for a long term fandom.
