Alluvial Nuggetts are a new band comprising members of The Cannanes, New Estate, Hello Satellites, Saddleback and Popolice!

Based in Melbourne's northern suburbs, the group are led by James Dutton, a Melbourne-based English-born singer/songwriter and guitarist known for his time in Flywheel, as well as stints in indie legends The Cannanes.

Alluvial Nuggets represents a major return to studio life for James and reunites him with producer Tony Dupé (Jack Ladder, Grand Salvo). Here they have finessed a soundscape from within the local hall in Tylden, Victoria with a beautiful album as whimsical and peculiar as anything conceived in an English two-up/two-down.

“Hot Knives is about inanimate objects that evoke strong personal memories. It’s about growing up a teenager in a party house when your parents are absent. It’s about my dad’s deceased estate and the family objects he chose to keep, like the bone handled kitchen knives with burn marks on the blades. It’s about buttering toast and remembering the past.”

Alluvial Nuggetts' self-titled debut album is out June 28, 2024 on Lost And Lonesome.

Great Earthquake return with ‘Introducing the New’, the instrumental second single from their upcoming album Abstract Expression, out August 2 on Lost And Lonesome.

Built around the signature sinewy Great Earthquake percussive backbone, ‘Introducing the New’ is the sound of 'one-man-looping-machine’ Noah Symons rediscovering himself amongst fresh surrounds.

As the track slowly emerges, muted from a subterranean slumber, the tentative bass, keyboard and guitar parts gently reveal themselves as if to receive a new love, like tendrils moving slowly toward the warmth of the sun.
