I was always the peacemaker, always showing up. But when my brother died and I became a mother, the people I thought would be there disappeared. I was betrayed and left to figure it out alone.
This song is also about gratitude — for the one real friend who reminded me that quality beats quantity.

He is not healed yet and each day becomes another step through the pain she left behind. He tries to piece together the broken parts of himself while she goes on as if none of it mattered. He questions whether anything she said or did was real or just another move in a game she enjoyed playing. He knows he did everything right while she treated his heart like something disposable. He is slowly learning to stand again even though the hurt still lingers in every thought and every memory. He is determined to rebuild himself and refuses to let her cruelty define the rest of his life. One day when he is whole again he will walk her way and show her that she never truly broke him.
