Memory Lane(Hard House Classics)

In 2001 I created my alias Aeon to release this song - because my label Tunnel Records wasn't interested in releasing it as Accuface (because at the same time I released "Let your Mind fly" on Sony Music). And having Tunnel Records rejecting it was the best thing that could happen: so I released it on Pias Recordings and it became one of my most successful records. It was massively supported by Paul van Dyk, Talla 2XLC, Blank & Jones and many others around the globe... and also "Radio Sunshine Live" was playing it on high rotation every day...good old days! :)

The production was at a time when electronic music was still created on "real machines" without audio programs (like Fruity Loops") and  virtual instruments like "Nexus" or "Sylenth" that are so easy to use today. 13 synths, drum machines and samplers were running at the same time in my studio. Some of them multitimbral. 32 mixer channels were used. Even the bassline consists of three different synths playing complementary. Finishing the whole production of this "Bombastic Remix" took me about three months - due to my perfectionism. ;)

In October 2015 we released Aïsha Devi's Of Matter and Spirit LP. The album encapsulated the spiritual metamorphosis and transcendental journeys of this otherworldly figure. The Swiss/Nepalese-Tibetan producer mentions Sufism and Tibetan monks as her major influences. Aïsha Devi published the LP under her birth name, adding further integrity and candor to this already intimate piece. Houndstooth now returns with the Of Matter and Spirit remixes EP to remind us about the sonic wonders hidden in Aïsha Devi's debut album. 

On this soundcloud stream Irish duo and Houndstooth favs @lakker open the cast of remixers with their take on Anatomy of Light adding a heavy dose of syncopated percussion. No Pain In Pop/New Ninja Tune signing @throwingshade transforms Kim & the Wheel of Life – Aïsha Devi's comment about contemporary idols being channels of commerciality rather than spirituality – into a session of brief introspection. 

The remix EP also boasts two reworks of Aïsha's hit single Mazdâ. Berlin's @mindbodyfitness interprets the track as a whirlpool of trance. The cherry on top is the spooky Killing Sound (@blackest-ever-black) version of Mazdâ with grime MC Rider Shafique and Bogues. 

The Aïsha Devi remixes EP exhibits the ethereal beauty within Of Matter and Spirit and should give more club airplay to this singular artist who perceives music as just another form of meditation.
