Piano solo variations on the theme "Träumerei" by Robert Schumann

The process of this composition relied on the dreams I had whilst composing it and there was conscious effort to derive music material from those dreams which lasted for roughly 10 days. A practice that I will like to develop as I find it almost freeing to surrender to what comes forth from the subconscious.

Chopin - Nocturne Op.9 No.2

Outer sections are an elegant, flowing waltz, separated by a long and tranquil middle section which is mostly tender and peaceful, until a rich passage built on the two circles of 5th. Overall, to my ear at least, the piece speaks through beauty to express an underlying sorrow. One of the SWWs which I found deeply moving – and rewarding – to compose
