Le chanteur, musicien et producteur britannique, Idren Natural, s'est éteint fin avril dernier. Si peu de médias, même spécialisés dans le reggae, s'en sont fait l'écho, c'est une perte immense pour le reggae anglais tant l'artiste était impliqué dans différents projets depuis des décennies, à travers son label I&I Oneness et bien d'autres... Le disquaire et selector Ras Karma de Livity Records à Lyon avait plusieurs fois travaillé avec et rend hommage à ce Rasta prolifique et "humble" avec une sélection tribute d'1h48 de 29 titres produits (dont quelques jolis inédits), composés ou chantés par Idren Natural ! R.I.E.P.

Un jeune crew créé il y a peu et composé de deux selectas toulousains, Julien aka Junior Willow (operation et sélection), et Cyril aka Original Irie (séelection et MC). Leurs sélections oscillent autour du roots, deep roots, digi roots et early dancehall, à l'image de ce mix inédit. Culture Dub Records is proud to announce "Babylon Is At War" by israeli militant singer Merav Stylee. Two Stepper tracks with conscious lyrics, riddims produced by Mighty Stepper, mixed, dubbed and mastered by Mixmonster in his Tel Aviv's studio, with an artwork by Wrap Up a Draw, for Free Download!

Babylon Is At War is Merav Stylee’s first recorded project. Merav is an Israeli singer who grew up in France and Belgium. She’s been active in the reggae and dub scenes for over 30 years, working with various artists, but never recording her own songs, until now. To create this EP, Merav Stylee teamed up with producer Mighty Pepper and sound engineer Mixmonster. "Babylon Is At War" was recorded, mixed, dubbed and mastered at Mixmonster’s studio in Tel Aviv. The EP discusses themes of government oppression such as vaccine passports and the tracking of society through technological means. These are conscious tunes calling for the people to wake up!

"Babylon Is At War" est le premier projet de Merav Stylee, chanteuse israélienne qui a grandi en France et en Belgique. Merav Stylee est active sur la scène Reggae Dub depuis plus de 30 ans, travaillant avec divers artistes, mais n'enregistrant jamais ses propres chansons, jusqu'à présent. Pour créer l'EP "Babylon Is At War", Merav Stylee s'est associée au producteur Mighty Pepper et à l'ingénieur du son Mixmonster. Les quatre titres ont été enregistrés, mixés, dubbés et masterisés au studio de Mixmonster à Tel Aviv. Sur 'Killing' et 'Babylon Is At War', Merav Stylee partage ses convictions sans concession, parlant de l'oppression gouvernementale, des passeports vaccinaux et de la surveillance du peuple par des moyens technologiques. For the 6th release on Storming Dub Record we are proud to have one of the greatest UK dub producers on our label.
We are talking about JAH WARRIOR, one of the biggest names in the UK Roots & Dub scene since the late 80s.
For our 6th release on Storming Dub Records we decided to put this 20 year old track on 7 inch vinyl for the first time, with a previously unreleased dubplate cut on the B side.
The track title is "THE GREATEST SOUND". Recorded and mixed at Conscious Sounds Studio, this tune is a heavyweight sound system stepper with Jah Warrior's trademark Jungle bass sound. Old school dub in full effect!

WARM UP. Jah Tubbys joue ce vendredi 15 juillet au Dub Camp festival avec Lion's Den et Equal Brothers dans la Sound Meeting Arena. Le sound londonien est le vétéran du festival (1971) et seulement l'un des deux sound systems britanniques de cette 7e édition avec Sinai sound system (merci le Brexit !). Pour lui rendre hommage, Daman et Musical Echoes s'associent pour une sélection fleuve (2h23) uniquement consacrée au label JTS : des titres dancehall des 80's aux dubs furieux des années 2000 en passant meilleurs featurings vocaux avec ses chanteurs attitrés : Errol Bellot, Dixie Peach ou encore Kenny Knots...

WARM UP ! Simply Rockers est un collectif implanté à Lisbonne. Sa première session sound system fut organisée en 2012 et depuis, le crew a comme objectif de divulguer le passé et le présent de la musique roots rock reggae dub au travers de sessions qui expliquent par la musique ce qui ne s’explique pas par des mots. Invités au HIM DUB Festival du 1er au 4 Septembre, il est l’un des sound systems les plus emblématiques du Portugal.
