Lining with the label's raw and old school influenced sound Aesthetics of re defining the term "House influenced Techno", Kashpitzky fits right in as one of the imprint's leading figures, compiling the 5th full length artist album to date from the label, after industry icons such as Kenny Larkin, Samuel L Session, Orbe and the label head Shlomi Aber.

As its title, the Romantic & Dead LP is an excepional abstracted and mixtured techno journey for the heads and collectors both, and marks a significant milestones for the young artist and the established label.

Fuse strikes again with a third release of ageless techno, brimming with grit and soul by Sweden’s own Dold. ‘Rider’ embodies 4 different examples of classically mastered techno that samples each facet of one of club music’s most enduring genres. Fuzzy mechanics, loopy chord sequences and thumping rhythms make this a particularly infectious record for dance floor newcomers and long time fanatics alike.

The A1 on a four track EP is usually meant to make an impression, an enticing introduction to lure in the listener to discover the rest of a project, and Dold does exactly that with ‘Smile’. A twisted name for an intimidating opener, the producer operates a minimal composition to make way for an invasive acid line, resulting in a peak time treat of immediate effect. ‘Smile’ exercises power with a shrill background ambiance to make its intentions clear, however the follow up balances the tone to bring things back to the groove. ‘Old News’ engages in a more playful style of production, blurring the line between percussion and synth work. Repetitive chords trigger almost like compressed toms, booming past an excited drum sequence with a punchy kick and flickering hi hats. Clap rolls before ducking back into the kick give this record a truly vintage quality to it, all the while staying pertinent for the modern dancefloor. The title track ‘Rider’ settles in perfectly as a response to its predecessor. Dold isn’t afraid to add a bit of shimmer to what could have been expected to be a colder addition to his EP, and this gives a considerable amount of character that has become synonymous with his sound. The bright keys and supporting synths are given a lot of space, creating a highly sought-after dancefloor euphoria. Melodically rich and percussively mastered, the Swede explores ‘Rider’ with openness and curiosity, making it the perfect track to name the project after. With the end drawing closer, Dold unveils the last part of his contribution to Fuse. Softening up his synth sequence to be a bit more airy than the three before, he’s able to create a whole new atmosphere by swaying through ‘Rich String’ that soothes the listener for the conclusion of his EP, a true reflection of Fuse’s brand of techno.

Premiere: Dold - Smile [FUSE03]

“Group Dynamics’ is inspired by this kind of captivating energy you feel in a crowd—think sports fans, a packed dance floor, a mass of humans––people aren’t themselves in crowds. I was interested in capturing that invisible social group dynamic that makes many people move as one.” - ASEC

On the A-side of ASEC’s ‘Group Dynamics’ EP, dropping via his eponymous imprint this November and following up a series of releases supported by the likes of Rødhåd and Tommy Four Seven, as well as output on BPitch and MORD. The title track enters the fray with a mystifying energy, percussion clicking and shifting while cavernous synth hits echo across its evolving soundscape. ‘Scala Naturae’ then continues with rolling drums shot through with bleeps and squelch, the steady beat of weighty kicks footing its looming psychedelic sequences.

Side B invites Counterchange Recordings founder Inland and KSR boss Kaiser to remix the original tracks. First up, Ostgut Ton, Figure, and Nonplus+’s Inland remixes ‘Group Dynamics’ by adding scratchy textures and the thrum of long-forgotten machines before Kaiser reimagines ‘Scala Naturae’. The Key Vinyl and Soma artist turns the track into a prime-time, tripped-out dancefloor cut.

Lastly, Inland provides a dub techno version of his contribution as a digital bonus, with ASEC dropping the excellent ‘Enough Is Enough’ on online platforms. In this track, typewriter-like hats skitter over imposing drums while warped melodics twist and turn on top, closing out yet another mind-melting techno offering from the Berlin producer.

Thirteen EPs and several VA’s make up the story of Marcel Fengler’s IMF label, and the music continues to go from strength to strength. The latest addition to the release catalogue is a split EP and may be one of the strongest to date, featuring a generous number of individual inputs inside a six-track EP. Delivering the goods this time, Stuttgart-based Rove Ranger serves up two sublime stompers, with enigmatic London local The Advent serving up a thumping remix for the first half of this split release. Madrid’s Rodiaz supplies another duo of weighty originals on the second side, backed up by legendary Scottish techno titans Slam. Rove Ranger closes off his side of the release with the breakbeat-laced sounds of ‘Unforgotten’, implementing endless audio width alongside pensive chords, thumping industrial grooves and hollowed-out sub-bass.

Says Zisko of this new release, “The Skin of The Snake is based on the profound & mysterious meaning of life, expressing the Art of Submission and the deepest desires that humankind has surrendered since the dawn of time. Followed by Rhythm & Seduction, these sonic experiments try to represent the dualistic synergy between the Masculine & the Feminine. The Fruit of Life & The Sacred Knowledge. The Yin & The Yang."
The title track opens up the EP with a quick and nimble techno rhythm that's underpinned by heavy kickdrums. Tiny sonic details scuttle throughout the mix next to haunting background pads and flourishes of melody that bring a hint of South American flair to the physical drums. The fantastic 'Rhythm & Seduction' then sets out to melt minds with a nod to the tangled and pulsating synths of Jeff Mills. It's an unrelenting mental maze of drums, bass, and melody that will warp space and time when dropped in a darkened club.

GTG Premiere | Zisko - The Skin Of The Snake [MDZN019]

After releasing five sold out various artists EP’s featuring 25 artists, positivesource is excited to present a new chapter for the label with a diverse and anthemic EP from Berlin based producer Regent.

No stranger to the label, Regent contributed to src005 last year with his smooth techno roller ‘Off Agenda’ alongside music from Neri J, Alpha Tracks, Vil & Cravo. His tracks have featured heavily in DJ sets by label founders Blue Hour and Philippa Pacho over the years, naturally the idea to present the first artist EP on positivesource with Regent comes as no surprise. The record starts on a hypnotic tip with ‘Occult’, grooving along with an infectious bass-line swung beats and blissed out atmospherics before stepping up the energy levels on ‘Khmera’, a relentless chord driven percussive anthem with nostalgic vocals rising to new heights. On the flip the title track ‘Aphid Riot’ is bold and vibrant leaning heavily into UK flavours using sliced up vocals, breakbeats and a classic ‘Reece’ bass-line. Completing the record is a ‘broken’ version of ‘Aphid Riot’ highlighting an ethereal tonal melody with a deeper and more introspective take on the original. It’s a new sound exploration from the producer, demonstrating his versatility and perhaps a rare moment in his discography.
