This week on Topshelf we're delighted to have with us Colombian Italo/Dark Disco DJ/Producer Galope Messier.

With his original discography beginning within it's last 12 months, Galope Messier's debut releases 'Onda Corrosiva', 'Lumbre Apasionada' and 'Stellar Guidance' have been a breathe of fresh air, carving there way somewhere in-between Italo and Dark Disco with a touch of Dark Wave and Acid.
We're extremely excited to see what this young artist has in store with future releases and with him already showcasing a fine ability to pull from a multitude of genres, we're sure his music will continue to deliver. 
So now with an 80's infused master mix, further demonstrating his wonderful ability to blend genres, here's Topshelf 0109 with Galope Messier. Enjoy.

The Darker Side of Disco is a radioshow hosted by Reyk. In the monthly show he will showcase Disco influenced music with a darker twist. It will feature the latest releases and timeless classics from genres like Italo Disco, Indie Dance, Dark Disco, some trance vibes and everything in between. Also the best party tips for experiencing this sound in your neighbourhood will be shared and a release of the month will be selected. But that's not all! Each month, there is a special guest to talk about their passion for music, along with a guest mix to share their unique take on the genre.

Pour ce numéro 143, nous avons l'extrême honneur d'accueillir un très grand artiste que nous affectionnons tout particulièrement au Boudoir, @skelesys  résume à lui seul toutes nos influences : Rock, post-punk, coldwave avec ce côté synthpop et electro qu'on adore.
Damian, de son vrai nom est un artiste polyvalent, en constante évolution et particulièrement avant-gardiste, un producteur et un artiste de scène avec un solide bagage musical, sa musique pourrait être défini comme hanté, le résultat d'un mélange délicat et soigné de basses marquées toujours accompagnées de mélodies qui donnent le frisson et de grooves entourés d'obscurité, le tout avec une vibe futuriste.

Ludviq is the project of Luis Fernando, born in Guadalajara, MX, now based in Barcelona, Catalunya. DJ, Sound Designer & Producer of Electronic Music since 2016, with influences like Psychedelic, Italo, Post Punk, Indie, Breaks, Disco, and EBM. He is also the founder of the prolific record label @bonkersmsc since 2018.

Yayem! It took some time to get to TR194, since we got a bit overwhelmed with things outside of our TANK Life ;) But we are back with a big one! We have got the new project 'Un Mensonge Par Jour' for TR194. This is a new project by the Head honchos of the Nous Festival: After Fever and Francois Del Mundo. They recorded an amazing mix with a lot of nice dark vibes, we reckon it's a perfect mix to introduce the new project to the world.

TR194 - Un Mensonge Par Jour

'Two Italians step into the Bordello. Both are armed. Their weapons of choice? The synthesizer sounds of italo, new beat and wave. LVCA and Otis have been raised on the sounds of their homeland, adopting its analogue sound while adapting it to their own style. The result is a brooding mix of addictive lines and vocoder fire. “Ritmo Electronico” opens with a steel-edged snare driving smeared synths through the city dusk, robotic lyrics menace this sleazy neon-stained scene of cracked mirrorballs and flaring machines. Listeners are pulled into the underbelly of A Promise In The Cold Night with the murky “Tanzen”. Alex Vincent’s words are shrouded in glitch, bright burbling bars and a clean clap offering a path of light to help the listener navigate their way. The true coldness of the night arrives with the stabbing keys of “Synthesised Emotion”. Through a haze of hi-hats, an electrical smoke of blacks and greys fizz with juddering volts as passions pour through cable and wire. That haze grows thick in the close. Through a mist of distortion, a “Sphere Of Light” penetrates. Pin-pricks of percussion are dowsed in aquatic tones before a syrup of static is poured across proceedings, lost vocals ghost in this fog of bending bodies and forms.'

Betty is a night owl. She started to work in the night life at the end of the 80's until 2005 in the trendiest clubs and bars of Lyon, where she lives, such as La Centrale, as a barmaid or party organizer, then at l'Exit, a famous techno bar she managed, but also for the mythical parties I love Boys, Enjoy and Wake Up.

In 1995, she went behind the decks and started mixing on vinyl.
Now, even after leaving the night life, she continues to deliver us club-oriented dance mixes tinged with Indie Dance and Dark Disco, while adding some New Wave. Her inspiration comes from bands such as Depeche Mode and The Cure, which she particularly likes.

In 2022, she decided to move towards production. She’s in fact half of the duo Nouveau Futur who released some tracks on Mélopée Records, Crave Tapes and Espacio Cielo. She’s currently preparing her next solo release and we were lucky to hear the first demo already. It sounds magnifique - just like our guest mix no. 65!
