For anyone wondering: the band itself made this song not because of Vietnam war. It was just a love song from 60s. But it got very popular and maybe been listened by soldiers a lot too. But in the film “Full metal jacket” (absolute cinema btw, check it out), a cinema about Vietnam war this song plays in the end of the film. Idk how it got there but there you go.
