Three years after his “Call the Doctor” EP, Luca “Curses” Venezia is back on Throne of Blood with “Tutto Nudo.” The digital only EP was written after a move to Berlin and is infused with the fetishist sleaze of his new home, cementing a transformation from the rockabilly influences of his past project DROP THE LIME into a drug chug more fitting with the dirtier corners of European clubs he now frequents.

This new Curses sound is on display in three original tracks. “Tutto Nudo” is a well-rounded number rooted in a simple yet heavy guitar hook and bassline, elevated by polished drums and synths. Italian horror film goes to the disco. Speaking of Italy, “Canini” is Luca’s nod to his roots, with a vocal performance in his ancestral tongue backed up by a cosmic chorus and percussions.
“This Is All A Dream” is the slowest of the three, a track for the beginning of the night or the end, depending on your personality. Its hypnotic chug would get an open mind going any time of day though.

Two remixes complete the EP: “Tutto Nudo” gets reworked by Timothy “Heretic” Clerkin, the always dapper Briton with a penchant for acid. Curses’s hook gets raved up with nothing but the dancefloor in mind. “Canini” gets flipped on its head by Australian musical shaman and co-founder of the Multi Culti imprint, Dreems. Channelling the vibes of a “beautiful men’s club”, he delivers his uniquely oddball version of 80’s electro funk. Breaks and bass and vocoders gather around a psychedelic drum circle, leaving you no choice but to join in.

When I arrived in Tübingen, I got quit quickly into the local scene, and I've met lots of bartenders, promoters and club owners. Lots of different people told me that I should meet Cedric Scheibel, and so I invited him to come to my house to try to produce something. We ran through some old projects that I had and then I found this one I was stuck with (only had half of the melody). We got along pretty well and after finishing the track in that day, we've done some gigs together and when I launched Inner Shah in December, I knew he would have to be part of it.

Dystopian Desert is the first studio album from Lisbon’s very own DJ and producer Madd Rod, released on 31 July 2020 by his imprint Inner Shah Recordings. Part a tribute to his roots, part a promise for the future: the album is the product of years of growth and appears as a solid approach to what some could call “Desert House”.
After years developing his sound, the artist sets a statement in this adventure as a storyteller, exploring different melodies in the Arabic scale in a gamut of ambient and club-ready tracks inspired by arid landscapes.
Rod expertly makes use of live guitar jams recorded by Azul (Duarte Igreja) to add a real element to the otherwise fully electronic compositions, adding a twist to the Melodic House and Techno the artist had released previously.
To add to the uniqueness of the 12-track album, the artist challenged the talented Rita Morais to oil paint her vision of the album on a square canvas that ended up as the artwork to this eclectic, mystic and exotic sound experience.
