Artist bio : 

Liam has always had a deep love for pure South African house music, and has always been astounded as to how unique the South African house scene is, from how the scene constantly evolving, to how South African producers are constantly re inventing their own sound.


The love for electronic music, local house music in specific came to Liam at a very early age, “I was about 7 years old when my Nannie at the time used to always show me her music and how unique it was, from there I was always the odd one out constantly only listening to local music whilst my fiends were listening to all the international artists” 


Liam eventually got the decks out and started to mix, from the tender age of 11 - then from their as he grew older he moved more behind the scenes in the entertainment industry and opened up a small events company “mainline events” at 17 years old- hosting events throughout the country from Bloemfontein to Pretotia and Johannesburg.


“ i personally feel the dj bug bit me the hardest as I was hosting all these events and constantly silently criticising all these djs, and wanting to display my own performance, and control the crowd, wow the crowd, in my own way - so when covid hit I finally got out the decks again and deciding to re invent the “Liam Jackson” brand, and I guess the rest is history! 




Mix description 


This is a mix featuring some tracks I’m really enjoying at the moment - along with tracks I would put in my ideal set, mixing my favourite local artists along with some international acts I’ve been following for a while.

In my opinion a great blend of house/ afrotech/tech house/ bass house all in one!

Tshegofatso Mokgethwa, better known by his stage name TshegoTMM,is a Pretoria based DJ, record producer, started his musical journey in the year 2011 as a Dj and he began to produce music from year 2014, he was influenced by one of his  brothers friends who is a varied music collector.


He released his debut ep in 2019, under soundvessel records (U.S.) on the same year he released again his second ep under one of the middle eastern records label 48 Records in Turkey and this year he released again his third ep under batavia record in the Netherlands and also has been featured on muzik & friendz records various artists compilation and he continued working with international record labels sach as sole channel music which is one of the biggest labels in the world and cyanide records which is based in Valencia (Spain) also  he come back home and release a single with a garden groove music.

As we check off another year for Steyoyoke Recordings, we would like to thank you for joining us on this wonderful journey and appreciate your continued support. To mark our 6th Anniversary, we invited some of the best producers to create remixes of our favourite Steyoyoke tracks of 2017. The release will feature remixes from Hernan Cattaneo, Audio Junkies, Martin Roth, Simon Doty, Nairo and Township Rebellion. The anniversary vinyl will be showcased and sold at our 6th Anniversary Party at Ritter Butzke in Berlin.

Opening the release is Hernan Cattaneo and Audio Junkies’ take on BLANCAh’s “Talus”. The result is pure energy with playful rhythm, soothed by melodic synths. Reinventing Soul Button’s “Paramour” is Martin Roth, who certainly adds a bit of forthright edge and deeper undertones to the original mix. Next up is Simon Doty and Nairo’s version of Nick Devon’s “Overflow”, which unleashes vivid elements scattered across heavy bass lines. The fourth and last track in this release is Clawz SG and Nick Devon’s “Syndicate” remixed by Township Rebellion. Saturated with explosive attitude, this remix surely won’t let one stand still!

For our 23rd release, we turn to South African based artists, Weston & Engine to show us a taste of the local underground that's been emerging in the past few months for their debut Ambious Records release. Keeping true to their sound, they have delivered nothing short of a groovy, elemental mix of deep and hypnotic flavored House Music, that we're excited to bring forward to showcase a bit of what these boys have been up to.

The first track off the EP, 'Dream Interpretations', remains true to its name. Ethereal dub chords flow over a groove-based low end that is reminiscent of what a dancefloor in our dreams might sound like.

The second track, 'Self Communication' sets the tone with a melancholic piano progression that moves through the beat and leads the way for the strings and bass to add texture and weight to the tension and mood.

Next up, we have, 'Above or Below the Centre' produced alongside local DJ and producer Guy Herman. Setting the pace for the rest of the EP, the organic layers back up the movement of the melody and move into an open landscape that is sure to get any dancefloor grooving with its undeniable atmosphere.

Recently they finally got to tell their story on the Upstairs floor at the iconic Underground Super Club, Truth. The moments captured during the recording will always hold a special place as the set they always talked about and dreamt of happening. This journey is packed with historical favourites, fresh cuts, original content , Live synths and well oiled collaborations.
