In an unusual collaboration between a Brazilian artist and a Chinese label, Numa Gama returns with a left-field take on her music-making, A Spectral Turn. Inspired by Derrida’s Hauntology, and the post-capitalist instigations of Anna Tsing, she weaves an eerie and cold subtropical soundscape that explores themes of freedom and imagination amidst the ghosts that inhabit today’s world.

Each track here unfolds like a vignette, as translucent synth lines float independently, accompanied by abstract sounds and glitches. This amalgamation creates a rational yet cozy stream of consciousness, guiding the listener through the haunted corridors of the memories of the past, ideas of the present, and miscarriages of the future. To summon these ideas, Numa Gama draws a parallel between negotiating political change and making kin with her own creative desires.

Rather than providing nostalgic sensations or futuristic insights, A Spectral Turn acknowledges that history ends at every moment, and gives way to new beginnings, swarming with ghosts.

This is an EP named "Day and Night Reversal" created by RebelMan and ChefRoca, a producer from Sichuan. This EP only has six tracks, some long and some short. Some tracks are like short diary entries, all made under the state of day and night reversal, expressing our helplessness encountered or seen in life in recent years, and carrying our expectations for the future. This track started as an experiment with reverb and repetition, with the lyrics a riff on Adrienne Rich's love poetry, exploring how external forces can bend and distort our love for another.

"The Lost Letters" are musician Ben J Heal and Taiwanese singer Fulya, who together started experimenting with lo-fi dream-pop music in 2023. The self-titled album, coming soon on Coju Recordings, comments on originality and authenticity by cutting up literary sources and blending analog and digital recordings. Ben's been a member of art-rock stalwarts "birdbath since 1994, and his "cowman" noise-rock project has released several albums on Ingue Records. His other projects include 2014’s cacophony of synth and gong "Hitobashira-ni". and 2016’s drony acid-folk experiment as "morimori". The "Coaxial" project further explores drone, plagiarism and electronica. All available on tape or DL via Bandcamp.
