r.roo is a young artist from the Ukraine. With "Broken Time", he presents us an incredibly adult and varied IDM album. Playful melodies, combined with intelligent beats and effects are making, "Broken Times" to an album that is never boring. 16 wonderful tracks are on the CD. Includes two remixes of the artists Tapage and Roots cloud. 

It's hard to believe that such a young musician delivers such a great and adult piece of work. The musical future is definitely on the side of r.roo and you will certainly hear a lot from this young, talented artist.

“My father used a 4-track recorder, because he liked playing quatre mains on the piano and didn’t have anyone to play with him at home. I used the machine in my youth to record my musical experiments with, among others, feedback, I didn’t have a computer then.

Last year Tapage received a cassette recorder from a friend and he has listened to the tapes he has always kept and then digitalized them. These recordings are the core of the new interpretations who will be released on tape again: Chrome Fragments (LOMEK027).

“Modern techniques enable me to have more control over the modifications of the source sounds. I was looking for a balance between the rough quality of the original tapes and the possibilities to record them in more complex compositions”, says Tapage

The grating of the source material on the one hand and the tight production on the other gnaws and propels. Organic music that forces you to listen closely. Futuristic, electrically charged while being very earthly, as if the elements play along as powers.

"Typically in my work I deal with fixed concepts and defined parameters. With “Entrop” the concept was to not deal with such notions and instead to embrace chaos. I built a noisy little synth – a Ciat-Lonbarde Esoterica Spike Ring – which I modified with further feedback loops to intensify its unpredictable nature. The drum track is not programmed – instead the drum computer follows the pulses of the synth. The recordings on this tape are edited and layered from several sessions.
