It’s already becoming a banner year for London-based Italian duo Tapefeed aka Alessandro Boni and Rick Vayo. The Village Underground resident DJs unveil their own label, Inveterate, with their debut EP Revolving Door. Such a menacing record of ear-crushing, club-debauched noise is a kindred spirit of their exclusive Bleep mix, and the adrenaline rush comes in multiple different forms; for every moment we dwell on the slow-violent static invocations of projects like clipping. and Against All Logic, we’re lamped across the head by shadowy forces of EBM and drum & bass.

The Brvtalist is proud to present a live set from Tapefeed. The London-based duo has been making waves on the scene for the past several years with Superstition parties at Village Underground which have hosted some of the biggest names in techno. They recently became residents of the legendary Fabric London and this set was recorded on September 4th, 2021 during the duo's opening set for the icon Jeff Mills. 

In addition to the Fabric residency, the pair also launched a new label, Inveterate, which hosts their new EP, Revolving Door which features 5 tracks plus a great remix from Cocktail Party Effect. Out now.

Alessandro Boni and Rick Vayo aka Tapefeed, have been busy forging an undeviating path on the international techno scene since their formation, as committed as ever to evolving their sound. Most recently at fabric, the pair debuted their hybrid live set at the club, and have even turned their hand to curating the whole Room 2 – beyond that have been busy maintaining an established presence in the international electronic music world elsewhere too, having shared the decks with fellow techno stalwarts Jeff Mills, Tommy Four Seven, Paula Temple, Perc, and I Hate Models. With industry interventions and an unmistakable live presence, Tapefeed are expertly scaling and redefining the perimeters of techno.

As DJs and producers, their sound encompasses a relentless array of styles, from powerful broken-beat grooves to distinctive techno and raw percussive sounds. Alongside releases on labels like Mord, Metempsychosis and Abyss, 2021 saw Tapefeed launch their own imprint Inveterate, and have since released an EP on our experimental imprint Houndstooth. The label has been showcasing the duo’s archetypal sound and vision ever since, inviting fellow producers to push boundaries.

The talented duo hailing originally from Italy yet currently based out of London, Tapefeed. They are the resident DJs of Superstition at Village Underground in London and Co-owners of the Tales Collective label. 

Recently their return on Metempsychosis Records with a controversial EP which includes two powerful remixes by Answer Code Request and Killawatt.  Taking inspiration from a famous quote of Eldridge Cleaver (writer and political activist) “They use force to make you do what the deciders have decided you must do” which was also repeated many times from Rage Against The Machine's frontman Zack De La Rocha before the start of their live performances, the EP's raw and industrial sound is an invite to raise awareness to a time of worldwide disconnection and conflict.
