Emerging from the third wave of DJ's out of her hometown of Medellin, Julianna has played a pivotal role in the city's electronic music scene since 2007.  Next to spinning records Julianna is involved in pushing various intiatives, taking part in collectives and organizing events. The musical activist and co-ounder of DOCE record shop is known for an exquisite and versatile selection selection that often crosses genres. With her platform Nótt, she focuses on the role of women in the latin american music scene, bringing attention to all the work that still needs to be done. Entourage Concept is back with a new podcast by the Berlin-based producer and DJ Black Mirror Park. Being a founding member of Sonntagsinstitut collective and having played at venues like ://about blank, Arena Club, Rummels Bucht and Mensch Meier, he is a familiar face in the Berlin scene. We are therefore all the more happy to have Black Mirror Park on board with the phenomenal EP titled »Golden Groove« which will be out 4th of march.

Minha paixão pela música eletrônica começou fora do Brasil, quando eu morava em Budapeste e comecei a frequentar festas e conhecer a cena local. Naturalmente, me interessei em começar a tocar e a pesquisar mais sobre música, começando a criar um estilo próprio. Eu navego entre vários estilos, incluindo House, Electro e até mesmo Pop, mas minha maior paixão é o Techno e suas vertentes. Tive a oportunidade de tocar algumas vezes no exterior e no Brasil, e também sou co-fundador do coletivo queer Bleak Narrative (@bleaknarrative) e hoje temos uma festa em Berlim. Para essa mix eu quis pegar um pouco mais pesado mas sem sair dos 135 bpm, escolhendo faixas com um baixo forte e sempre presente, mas sem esquecer na narrative com altos e baixos.

My passion for electronic music started outside Brazil, when I was living in Budapest and started going to parties and getting to know the local scene. Naturally, I was interested in starting to play and researching more about music, starting to create my own style. I navigate between various styles, including House, Electro and even Pop, but my biggest passion is Techno and its strands. I had the opportunity to play a few times abroad and in Brazil, and I'm also a co-founder of the queer collective Bleak Narrative (@bleaknarrative) and today we have a party in Berlin. For this mix I wanted to go a little heavier but without leaving 135 bpm, choosing tracks with a strong and always present bass, but without forgetting the narrative with ups and downs.

~ About The Story ~

A time for celebration.
Tomorrow the light will begin to fade
As the Wheel of the Year
Turns on and ever on.

The sun rises high in the late summer sky
And lights our way even into the night
Today the sun casts three rays
The light of fire upon the land, the sea, and the heavens

From the west, the mist rolls in
Bringing rain and fog
The life-giving water without which
We would cease to be.

Beneath my feet is the Earth,
Soil dark and fertile
The womb in which life begins
And will later die, then return anew.

This story was translated by an ancient scribe and is told in different ways ways depending on the culture. The chapters have been lost but the story remains intact.

Campfire Stories is a mix series by friends of Silent Season. The focus of the series is on storytelling through deeper electronic music. Artists weave together narratives using the emotional characteristics of ambient and techno music.

On The 5th Day Podcast #078 - D-Leria

Jon Hussey, a pioneer of the Irish Techno scene DJing since the early nineties, kick-starting at the infamous Planet Dub night in Dublin. He has promoted and resided at many Techno clubs throughout Ireland as well as playing in many Techno havens across the world including Amsterdam, London, New York, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds and Turin.

In '99 Jon was among the first group from Ireland to qualify for the Red Bull Music Academy which was held in Berlin. Over the past decade he has kept this passion nurtured by being continuously involved in similar projects and innovations and recently organised a group of young rising Irish DJs and producers to participate at the pioneering PLUG “Plug European Electronic Music Conference” in Berlin. 

Music wise Jon has played alongside many of his all time favourite artists from Plaid to Surgeon, Joey Beltram, Jeff Mills, Steve Bicknell, Sunil Sharpe, Takaaki Itoh, Ancient Methods, Loktibrada, Rumenige, Dave Clarke, Mark Broom, Henning Baer, Inigo kennedy, Neil Landstrumm, Reeko, Grovskopa, DJ Boss, Bas Mooy, Perc, Hardfloor, Oscar Mulero, Jerome Hill, AnD, Truss, Paula Temple, Christian Wunsch and Exium!!

In 2011 Jon dedicated some production time with fellow Techno DJ Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker Tricaustic and released “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” on Komisch records which was well received and supported by artists such as Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Peter Van Hoesen, Anthony Shakir, Smear, Kriz, DJ 3000 and many more.

Recently the national radio station (2FM) were quoted in their Late Night Sessions Blog as stating that “Jon Hussey is one of the longest serving true purveyors of Techno in Ireland, running nights in the early days of Dublin's dance scene, when techno to most people meant U96 or 2 Unlimited. Consistently one of the best DJs around, Jon never lets the side down” giving a rare insight into Jon's personality as a DJ!
