This is one of those remixes where I was blessed to have flipped a sample in the same key as the acapella, I’d always wanted to remix this song, but because of the hook I’ve always been hesitant cause it’s difficult to be sure if the singing will sound right over a different beat. When I tested this out over this beat though, I instantly knew it was right, and was way too gassed with that, it’s always dope when two things go together so well musically. I added the switch up at the end because I always felt like these two beats were similar despite having different vibes, they were made in a similar way with a similar drum and chop pattern, so I thought they went well together to give this remix new flavour for the final verse (which is pretty short so I felt like it made sense to change the beat for a quick switchup). 

This is a great album by the Fugees too, I can’t say it’s underrated cause it’s defo one of the most widely recognised 90s Hip Hop albums, I would say that their debut album is quite underrated, it’s for sure not as polished and refined as this one, but it has some nice underground sounding tracks. I’m always shocked at how many classic singles came off this one album, I feel like Ready Or Not might be the most well known, sadly it’s the only one I’ve been able to find an acapella for.
