Both KMDs albums are crazy: so interesting to listen to to hear DOOMs early stages as an artist, and the albums are dope in their own right. There's so many lines and moments which are like little snippets of what was to come: like in this track where DOOM (as Zev Love X) calls himself a maniacal villain. Personally I prefer their second album: really dark and grimey with so many tracks that I'd love to remix in the future. Contact Blitt has to be one of my favourites for sure, such a rugged vibe. I love their approach being a lot more focused on the pitfalls of society in that album too: really takes it on in a matter of fact kind of way, no sugar coating. Mr Hood is dope too of course: almost like a complete opposite in terms of style and attitude. If you rate DOOM and haven't looked into KMD I highly recommend it, and if you're already a fan, defo let me know which vibe you prefer in terms of their first and second album, would be interested to hear other opinions and discuss that in the comments. This beat was a lot of fun to flip, loads of layering from across the sample, the subtle harp chops really elevated the vibe for me, and the way the horn chops echo from the end of the loop into the start gives the beat a lot of momentum I think.

Espadas De Tinta

I didn't expect this acapella to work with this beat at all: but when I made it I kept miming the hook over the beat so I had to see how it sounded. Cause the original is so stripped back and grimey I never saw any positive side to the lyrics before: was always more focused on how raw it is. But over this beat it really brought the slightly positive side of these lyrics to the surface for me: which is basically just having your guys back no matter what. Despite the violence that everyones speaking on I still think this optimistic kinda beat does fit it in an abstract way. Not really sure how to put it into words: but I was surprised with how well these two went together, and I'm going with my gut on this one. I've said before: but if I'm going to remix a classic song I defo want to do something different and not try and re-do what was achieved in the original, and this is defo one of the most wildly different takes I could have gone for when compared to the OG. Let me know what you think of this one, do the vibes fit or is it too far out? Peace, thanks for listening. 

Also 3rd Mobb Deep remix in a row, I think next weeks will be a Raekwon track, but who knows I might make something for another Mobb track during the week. Had their tracks in my head everytime I work on remixing recently.

JJ DOOM is crazy underrated imo, this is my favourite track off the album and I've always wanted to remix it. This beat was actually a tough one in terms of choosing an acapella at first, I tried loads with the sample at it's normal pitch and just wasn't feeling it at all. When I tried it with this acapella I had to pitch the sample down to match the key of DOOM here, and was defo gassed off the vibe. I really love the emotion from DOOM in this verse, it's crazy and pretty unique for him: the subtle singing at the end really tops the whole track off. 

Defo feeling those winter blues but making this track really helped me vent those emotions as always. Hopefully that comes across in the vibe. Lots of exciting stuff on the way - should be ready to properly announce my album very soon - I'll be keeping up the remixes in the meantime for sure though.
