Chris Burden was a CA-based sculptor/performance artist. In 1974, he performed one of his most famous works titled, “Trans-Fixed”. The work involved him being nailed, crucified, to the hood of a Volkswagon Beetle.  In 1983, Stephen King penned the novel, Christine about a possessed 1958 Plymouth Fury.
