The day has finally come. I've been talking for a while about wanting to learn how to mix, but I never had the motivation to do it at home. Playing at Kiezburn (an event based on the principles of Burning Man) seemed like the perfect occasion for my first official set. I felt extremely stressed and anxious about it, knowing I only had a handful days of practice. Despite my fears, I felt calm and confident from the very first track and absolutely loved the experience.

So here it is: I played the closing set on Friday night (2-4am) after Temple Tears on the beautiful Musotopia stage.

Tarantella @ Kiez Burn 2024 (Musotopia Stage)

It was my first time playing in a club, and wow—what an incredible feeling that was! I couldn’t believe how much I enjoyed it. Seeing the smiling faces, the wild dance moves, the cheering, and feeling the energy of the crowd gave me goosebumps over and over. Creating a musical journey, with the crowd, unique to that moment, is just magical. I can't wait to do it again :)

Temple Tears B2b Tarantella - OE-AA-SIES - Tuesday Night @ Afrikaburn 2025

It felt very special to play on an artwork I helped build, deep in the South African desert. The sculpture—a pregnant woman lying on her back— represented a symbol of peace and unity. A place of rebirth. A space for transformation and release.

I wanted to play a downtempo set that honored that feeling. It is a compilation of some of the tracks that touched me the most since discovering downtempo in 2020 (including one of the very first downtempo track I ever danced to).

A few years ago, when I was already passionately digging tracks, people would often ask me why I didn’t DJ. I’d say: I love dancing too much — why would I ever want to be behind the decks? But if I were to play someday, it would be at Beate Barfuß. And last Sunday, that day came.

I’m deeply grateful for the chance to play in a club that feels like a second home, at an event that completely changed my life six years ago. This is where I discovered downtempo. Where electronic music and dancing became my whole world.

Thank you to everyone who danced and felt with me — for the whole journey or just a moment — and for the kind words afterwards. It was an emotional ride !

Thank you to Luca Musto for the trust, and to the entire Beate Uwe team for making these heartwarming events possible.
