Battery Operated Orchestra’s new single Nightclub Mishap has the synthpop duo from Sussex return with a spiky disco banger. 

Clanging, twanging, stomping and insistent, Nightclub Mishap envisions the horror show of night-life and the freedom and release found therein. Brigitte’s vocals move from smooth and sultry to sharply shocked, shouting over iridescent synths and outrageously roaring electric trumpets. This is a wonderfully silly slice of disco-synth absurdity.

It comes with a remix from industrial electronica veteran Andrew K (Stabbing Westward, Prick, the The, Exotic Birds, Discothèque) and a ‘bandmade’ animated music video which makes the claustrophobic sweatbox of a nightclub toilet seem like more fun than the dancefloor. 

The video will premiere on their monthly livestream known as BOO-cast on October 3rd, after which it will be available to purchase from Bandcamp or stream via most services.

Celebration of a Hippy Halloween - Love, peace, and Ghosts

This Legend crowd, whose band name is more than ironic allusion to the 1970s film of the same name, are certainly a tight group of musicians, and the introduction of the boozy brass, certainly evokes a haunting Hallowe’en feel – again very appropriate for the approaching All Hallow’s Eve.

Tarbuck & Skelly (Dan and Seb) are an alt-pop duo from London and Oxford.  The unusual combination of Dan’s lively synth production and Seb’s poppy horn hooks results in a fresh and exciting soundworld, bound to surprise. 

Fusing catchy vocal melodies and horns, gnarly synths, intriguing harmonies, and film score influences, their songs explore everything from tender heartbreak to pure euphoria – sometimes as an imagined character, other times reflecting on very real experiences, though the line is often ambiguous.
